We see reviews from cosmetologists for the face

It’s probably no secret today that moisturizing is one of the main stages of skin care. And the point is not only that its lack of moisture threatens with peeling and an unpleasant feeling of tightness. The fact is that it is dry skin that provokes the premature formation of wrinkles and clearly emphasizes existing signs of aging. And in our “drying” age - the age of polluted air, chlorinated water, active sun and flickering monitors around the clock - even young, oily skin requires careful hydration. Is it any wonder that every woman has the appropriate skincare product in her “makeup bag”? Some people prefer a product from a luxury brand, others choose a simpler brand, but in most cases we are talking about special cosmetic creams, lotions, and tonics. And only a few use pharmaceutical preparations for effective and safe skin care. For example, Videstim ointment.

Why are drugs used in cosmetology?

In fact, the practice of using medicines in cosmetology is far from new: they are successfully used, for example, to fight acne and post-acne, eliminate puffiness under the eyes, and prolong the youth of the skin. This is due to the fact that pharmaceuticals and cosmetic products often have the same active ingredients, but specific ballast additives (such as fragrances or preservatives) are contained in medical preparations several times less. And Videstim ointment is an excellent confirmation of this.

What is Videstim and why was it invented?

Videstim is a medicinal product intended for use in:

  1. inflammatory diseases and skin conditions associated with increased dryness;
  2. reducing the healing rate of injured skin areas;
  3. violations of the keratinization process.

The drug Videstim effectively combats various skin problems associated with dryness

In pharmacies it is easy to find tubes containing 10 g, 15 g, 20 g or 35 g of ointment for external use Videstim (0.5%). It is in this dosage form that the drug is produced. The price of the product depends on the size of the tube, region and specific pharmacy and is about 100–120 rubles. for 10 g and 230–250 rubles. for 35 years

This drug can be used to successfully treat:

  1. dermatitis;
  2. eczema;
  3. atopic dermatitis without exacerbation;
  4. cheilitis;
  5. cracks (including nipples) and abrasions.

And all thanks to the fact that we see:

  1. restores epithelial tissue;
  2. reduces keratinization processes, prevents the appearance of dryness and flaking;
  3. increases skin immunity.

The drug also prevents age-related changes in the skin. And this, by the way, is written in the instructions for its use.

Retinol Palmitate: The Miracle Component of a Common Medicine

What makes a medicine for eczema an effective means of fighting to preserve youthful skin? The answer to this question must be sought in the composition of the drug. One gram of ointment contains:

  1. Active substance: retinol palmitate (retinol) (100% equivalent) 5 mg.
  2. Excipients: butylated hydroxytoluene, butylhydroxyanisole, emulsion wax, petroleum jelly, glycerin (glycerol), ethyl alcohol (ethanol) with a concentration of 95%, purified water.

Medicinal analogues of Videstim are Retinol acetate, Retinol palmitate and Vitamin A, containing different forms of retinol as the active substance.

It is the content of retinol palmitate in the preparation - a synthetic form of vitamin A - that determines the possibility of using Videstim for cosmetic purposes. After all, vitamin A (retinol) is necessary not only for bone growth, good vision and a strong immune system. In addition, he:

  1. provides skin elasticity;
  2. promotes the production of your own collagen;
  3. stimulates cell regeneration;
  4. activates metabolic processes;
  5. responsible for uniform pigmentation;
  6. improves skin immunity;
  7. being a natural antioxidant, it binds free radicals that destroy collagen fibers;
  8. nourishes and effectively moisturizes the skin.

Just imagine how a lack of this substance will affect your appearance: the skin will lose elasticity, the level of collagen synthesis will decrease, regeneration and metabolic processes will slow down, and pigmentation will become uneven. But all of the above are signs of aging! Today it has been established that a lack of vitamin A in the body triggers the mechanism of skin aging.

And with a lack of retinol, lips crack, the epidermis flakes, nails split and hair ends split. That is why we need to thank our parents for the patience with which they tried to feed us broccoli, spinach and fish oil: these are the foods that contain natural vitamin A. And also legumes, sweet peppers, pumpkin, carrots, egg yolks, liver, hard cheese and butter.

Natural vitamin A is found in many foods of plant and animal origin.

Non-lyrical digression: retinol is different from retinol

Unfortunately, true vitamin A (retinol) is an extremely unstable substance, and it has not yet been possible to isolate and use it in its pure form. Therefore, synthetic forms of retinol, active (for example, isotretinoin) and inactive (for example, retinol palmitate), have found wide use in medicine and cosmetology.

Active forms of retinol have a harsh effect on the skin (they can even “dry out” it), and it is almost impossible to control the depth of their effect. But they are extremely effective against all forms of acne and open comedones (“blackheads”). A striking example of a product with an active form of retinol is Retinoic ointment.

Of course, the active form of synthetic retinol has all the properties of vitamin A, including anti-aging. But due to the aggressiveness of the effect and its “uncontrollability”, using the same Retinoic ointment for skin rejuvenation is not the best idea.

Inactive forms of synthetic vitamin A are used in cosmetology for anti-aging care and combating hyperpigmentation. They act on the skin gently, but at the same time quite effectively, nourishing and moisturizing the epidermis. Videstim ointment is an excellent example of a product with an inactive form of retinol. Stabilized synthetic vitamin A contained in the preparation:

  1. refreshes and renews the skin, gently exfoliating dead cells;
  2. moisturizes the skin and increases its elasticity;
  3. smoothes out small wrinkles;
  4. activates the process of collagen production;
  5. evens out tone and improves complexion.

True, you should not expect results after the first use of the product: the effect will appear after some time and will require a course of procedures.

Table: use of different forms of retinol in cosmetology

Pharmaceutical product containing retinol Purpose What skin type is it suitable for? At what age is it used?
With active form of retinol:
  1. Retinoic ointment.
  2. Isotretinoin.
  1. Harsh exfoliation.
  2. Fighting acne and open comedones.
  3. Leveling the skin texture.
For oily, problematic, rash-prone skin.
  1. After 26 years.
  2. For medical reasons.
With inactive form of retinol:
  1. We see.
  2. Retinol acetate.
  1. Moisturizing and softening.
  2. Renewal and regeneration.
  3. Nutrition.
  4. Smoothing out small wrinkles.
  5. Evens out skin tone.
  1. For dry, thin, atopic skin.
  2. For skin of any type with insufficient moisture levels.
No limits

Be careful: different retinol products have different effects on the skin. So not all retinoids (preparations containing any form of vitamin A) are analogues of Videstim.

Applied retinology: how to use Videstim for cosmetic purposes

To achieve the desired result without causing any damage to the skin, when using Videstim you should remember the basic “retinol” rules:

  1. Before applying the ointment, thoroughly cleanse your facial skin without using products with abrasive particles (scrubs).
  2. Use Videstim before bed and never under cosmetics: retinol loses its properties in the sun and does not like “layering”.
  3. Just apply a thin layer of the drug to your facial skin: it will be easily and quickly absorbed without leaving any traces or greasy film.
  4. When using Videstim (as well as any drug with retinol), be sure to use products with UV filters (with SPF of at least 25 units) before going outside and do not visit beaches or solariums.
  5. In general, the best time for a course of procedures with Videstim is spring or autumn, when solar activity is minimal.
  6. The “golden retinol rule” says: the more often you use a product with retinol, the shorter the course duration should be. For example, if you use Videstim daily, the course duration will be 2 months; when using the drug 3 times a week, the course duration will be 3 months; when using the ointment 2 times a week, the course duration will reach 4 months.
  7. The break between courses of using retinol-containing drugs should be at least six months.
  8. For delicate skin around the eyes, use Videstim no more than 2 times a week for a month, followed by a break for 1–2 months.
  9. When using Videstim, cleanse the skin with gentle neutral products that do not contain abrasive particles or alcohol.

And most importantly: be patient. You will notice the rejuvenating effect of using the product in a couple of weeks.

We see vs. acne: the result is unpredictable

In fact, inactive forms of synthetic retinol are not originally intended to fight acne. They are rather good for eliminating post-acne due to their regenerating properties. Nevertheless, some cosmetologists and dermatologists recommend Videstim for the complex treatment of acne. And judging by the feedback from their clients, such an appointment can be very effective.

Videstim belongs to the group of external retinoids; it is actively and with good effect used for the treatment of acne. However, it is worth remembering. that in many cases only one drug is prescribed. Even very good is not enough due to the reasons and/or severity of acne.

My doctor prescribed Videstim for acne. I started taking it only because it was inexpensive and had virtually no side effects. But I really didn’t expect any improvement. And I have the result. The skin began to look like a person's. A friend from a neighboring group saw this and decided to also try Vistim for treatment. But the medicine didn't help him. He has deep, sort of conglobate acne. And this ointment does not take them.

Well, Retinoic ointment will help those whom Videstim could not help in the fight against acne. Still, it is worth considering that this is not what the drug was originally intended for.

Reviews on the use of Videstim for cosmetic purposes

I have terribly dry skin, flaking, which is very difficult to remove, in addition, I cannot use very oily creams, because I have combination skin, which can easily become oily from a rich cream. Oh yes, I also have dry lips, sometimes herpes pops up, when it goes away, crusts form that my crazy hands constantly pick off, then scars remain... I save all this with this ointment.

Personally, I tried this ointment for the first time when my lips were cracked in winter. The ointment healed the crack within a day. (Is this even possible?) And I also applied it to my chapped, dry lips. After which they instantly became nourished, hydrated and healthy. I also use the ointment as a cream (in a thin layer) or a face mask. After one procedure, all peeling disappears, dry skin immediately becomes moisturized, beautiful, and healthy. And, by the way, this effect lasts quite a long time. In general, when my face becomes dry, the heavy artillery goes into battle - Videstim ointment. She's never taken me out yet. (Unlike some expensive facial treatments)

We see that it effectively moisturizes and rejuvenates the skin, eliminating dryness and smoothing out fine wrinkles.

Although exceptions to the general rule are always possible.

We see the author of the article: a story of dislike

It must be admitted that, having lived to the respected “near-Balzac” age, the author of the article remained an enthusiastic person who wanted to try everything for himself. Therefore, information about a wonderful pharmaceutical product that promises the skin, if not eternal, then certainly long youth, could not simply pass by. We see that it has been purchased, the face has been properly cleaned, and a thin layer of ointment has been applied. Before bed, as expected. I prepared to wait for the result and honestly waited for it for three days, persistently repeating the procedure. And on the fourth day, instead of the coveted radiance of youth, my face was illuminated by the radiance of unexpected, but very expressive pimples. Moreover, in quantities that I did not observe in my youth.
I had to rush to my cosmetologist friend. And she explained to me that for my very oily and very porous skin Videstim is somewhat heavy, since it was originally created for dry and atopic-prone skin. Of course, the oiliness of the skin and its moisture are two different things. But the use of the drug for cosmetic purposes requires mandatory prior consultation with a specialist. And specifically in my case, which was not burdened by dry skin, she, a professional cosmetologist, during such a consultation would have warned that the wax and petroleum jelly included in Videstim would cause much more harm (by clogging the pores) than the drug itself would benefit. After which, having prescribed Retinoic ointment to overcome the side effects of failed rejuvenation, my friend sent me home.
I got rid of acne quickly enough. And Videstima used the rest as hand cream. And I was quite pleased with the result, by the way. But I’m not going to use the ointment in any capacity anymore. For now, anyway.

About side effects and other dangers

When considering Videstim as a cosmetic product, we must not forget that in fact it is a medicinal product with a very active active ingredient. And, like any drug, it has contraindications and a number of possible side effects. In order to avoid accidentally harming yourself (or your child) while trying to preserve youth, follow these simple rules:

  1. Do not use Videstim during pregnancy: retinol is potentially teratogenic, i.e. a substance that can cause fetal development defects.
  2. Refrain from using the drug during breastfeeding (the only exception is its use for healing cracked nipples, but for this case there are strict rules).
  3. Before using Videstim, consult a specialist (dermatologist or cosmetologist).
  4. Be sure to conduct a preliminary allergy test by applying a small amount of ointment to the inside of your wrist or elbow: if after a few hours some allergic reaction appears in this area (redness, rashes, itching), then you should not use the drug.
  5. Do not use Videstim simultaneously with taking any medications, vitamin complexes or dietary supplements that contain vitamin A in any form: in excess doses, retinol is toxic and has a destructive effect on the liver.
  6. Remember that Videstim is incompatible with tetracyclines (a group of antimicrobial antibiotics).
  7. Apply the ointment to the skin in a thin layer, as otherwise you risk side effects such as itching, redness and/or rash.
  8. Do not use an expired drug (the shelf life of Videstim is 5 years and is indicated on its packaging).
  9. Store the ointment at a temperature of 2–8 °C, following the instructions in the instructions for use.

Be attentive and careful, and Videstim will certainly be able to pleasantly surprise you.

When used correctly and carefully, Videstim ointment will delight you with a pronounced rejuvenating effect.

We are all adults and we understand perfectly well that if miracles happen in this life, they are extremely rare. Unfortunately, no drug can restore the skin’s lost youth, even if it’s at least three times medicinal. But some means are quite capable of delaying the inevitable age-related changes and mitigating their manifestations. So is it worth spending serious money on luxury cosmetic products or is it better to visit the nearest pharmacy? The choice, as always, is yours. Just remember that pharmacy ointment for external use Videstim is not the last in the ranking of products for moisturizing and rejuvenating the skin.

Patient reviews of Videstim

I have long been hooked on ointments from this company; I use them not only as therapeutic products, but as excellent cosmetic products. The content of vitamins in them is seriously controlled, I think, because the attitude towards medicines is much more serious than towards cosmetics, so I trust them more. And creams with such a percentage of vitamins are so expensive that you can’t afford them. “We see” as a face cream is in first place for me. Gentle, absorbs well, smoothes the skin, and fills it with some radiance. I love. They also have "Radevit", of course, but this is heavy artillery, I use it too, but more in the form of a mask. As an ointment, Videstim is suitable for thin skin, but for oily, thick skin it is rather weak, of course. But I was lucky, the effect is perfect.

And now I’m applying “Videstim” to my face. My skin has gone crazy, even though I take good care of it. And I constantly buy a bunch of different creams and serums and tonics for her. And now it is intensely peeling and very dry, with a feeling of tightness. I was told that this is a seasonal phenomenon and I seem to be “shedding.” That's why I now smear my face with this ointment after cleansing. Skin feels much better. "Videstim" moisturizes the skin, relieves dryness and, it seems to me, helps remove scales.

“We see” after all the festive washing, cleaning and cooking - it’s simply an indispensable product for your hands. During all the holidays, I literally smeared the tube. But she kept her hands in excellent condition. Its moisturizing properties are beyond praise.

I love this ointment, I use it in the winter for dryness and cracks on my hands and I apply it to my daughter’s lips, they become very chapped and dry. The ointment is good and inexpensive, but the downside is that it can be stored in the refrigerator.

We see that I always buy it before the cold weather, since my skin is quite delicate, my hands and face suffer from the cold wind. I apply Vistim and everything is fine. Even if winter comes unexpectedly (and in Russia it doesn’t happen otherwise) and the face is chapped, everything heals quite quickly.

For our family, Videstim is a universal remedy. Mom smears her elbows so they don’t become dry, and sometimes her heels so they don’t crack. I really like to tidy up their hands, especially in winter. My husband, if he spends the whole day fishing, where there is wind and sun, he always smears his face when he arrives home. And in winter this is an indispensable ointment for my daughter’s lips. The price is also good.

I have two magical helpers in the fight against cracked and dry heels - Uroderm and Videstim. After water treatments and pumice, I wipe my feet and first apply Uroderm - it moisturizes well and softens the top layer, when absorbed, I apply Videstim on top. And socks on top. The heels are well-groomed and soft.

But I was just advised to use Vistim for cracks in my nipples, the tube of Bepanten ran out, the cracks remained, and I decided to buy something new, I liked the ointment, it’s not greasy, absorbs quickly, and is inexpensive.

I used Vistim when the skin on my heels was cracked due to dryness. The eternal problem with these corns! I read about an ointment that heals cracks even on the nipples during breastfeeding. I smeared my heels very generously. Now I try not to let it get to that point.

A good quality “moisturizer” and “healer” for dryness. I like that it leaves a subtle protective layer to prevent my skin from drying out.

After the New Year's feasts, some peeling and redness appeared on the forearm. The doctor suggested Vistim. I applied it for several days, and the main problem went away - only a pale spot remained. Now I will keep this ointment in reserve just in case. Otherwise, I sometimes have such troubles (most likely a food allergy).

I've been using Vistim for several years now. Especially in winter, as the skin on your hands and lips get very dry. I'm very pleased with them. The skin is hydrated and no longer becomes dry. And how did I live without this cream before!?

I used Vistim for dry hands, and then decided to try it on my face since it moisturizes so well. I liked it - the effect is especially noticeable under the eyes - the crow's feet become less pronounced as the ointment is applied. So I bought myself a new cosmetic product and it is very effective.

Initially, I bought the ointment when my daughter’s lips were very chapped - the doctor prescribed it. Now we always have it in our medicine cabinet, I smear my hands after the dacha (they are very dry and exhausted), I smear my elbows, they dry out a lot, and my daughter’s face and lips after frost.

I am very pleased with the price of this ointment. A friend praised that it saves her hands in winter. If the ointment were more expensive, I probably wouldn’t buy it to try. And so I took it. And now it’s in the refrigerator; if my hands suddenly get dry, I apply it. Immediately smoothes out flaking.

Used while breastfeeding. Like probably many people, cracks, dryness and pain began to appear. I started looking for a cure. "Videstim" was recommended at the pharmacy, so I decided to try it. Its price is normal, not as exorbitant as many ointments. I felt relief immediately, the cracks disappeared within a few days. At first I was worried that this would not affect the baby, but the ointment is hypoallergenic, odorless, and absorbs quickly. So everything was great.

My wife has eczema, and, to be honest, it interferes with life a little. So it usually doesn’t bother me, but sometimes it gets worse. We went to doctors many times and were prescribed a bunch of ointments, pills and some procedures. We have already turned to traditional medicine. Damage to hand tissue usually cleared up in about a month with the help of ointments. But after learning about Videstim, we decided to try it, and I’m very pleased. Now, during an exacerbation, everything passes much faster for us - we don’t have to wait a month. I recommend. Well, at least this ointment worked for us. Thanks to the manufacturer and friends who gave us this ointment, now it is indispensable in our first aid kit.

You can say that Videstim ointment is my savior, I discovered it about a year ago, and I will continue to use it. I use it in the fight against wrinkles, and I can say that it is very successful. I apply it to my face every night and go to bed, it absorbs perfectly. The skin becomes very pleasant to the touch, more elastic, very elastic. I also use it when the skin is very dry and chapped or frostbitten, as a mask, I apply it on gauze for about 20 minutes, then wash it off. But, for example, it is not at all suitable for my friend and my mother, since it causes redness and slight itching, and the components of the ointment are probably not suitable.

I used Vistim for psoriasis - I didn’t notice much benefit (I applied it for two months), although I was praised for it. A friend treated dermatitis with the same video - it helped. So here’s how it goes for anyone.

Instructions for using Videstim

Short description

At first glance, the drug Vividim does not represent anything supernatural. The active ingredient in it is retinol, also known as vitamin A. It would seem that there aren’t enough vitamin preparations containing this biologically active substance on pharmacy shelves? But Videstim clearly stands out in this series: it is the only retinol-based drug registered in Russia, produced in the form of an ointment. Indeed, all other monocomponent drugs that contain vitamin A are produced in the form of capsules, dragees, tablets and solutions. Therefore, we see, to some extent, a unique product of the domestic pharmaceutical industry, developed by the Research and Production Enterprise “Retinoids”. The specialization of the drug is quite narrow (which, however, does not detract from its advantages): these are various skin diseases, including psoriasis, dermatitis, pyoderma, eczema, ulcers and erosions. This is not surprising, given the pronounced dermatoprotective properties of Videstim. The drug helps restore the skin, stimulates mitosis of the skin epithelium, prevents keratinization processes, and inhibits excessive thickening of the outer stratum corneum of the skin. The effectiveness and tolerability of Videstim was studied at the clinical sites of the Moscow Medical Academy. I.M. Sechenov. It was found that the use of ointment as part of complex therapy gave a good effect in 86.7% of patients.

In this regard, Videstim can be recommended for use in dermatological practice for diseases that result in dryness and cracks in the skin. The effectiveness of the drug was insufficient in cases where its use was preceded by glucocorticosteroid therapy. Vidistim is well tolerated by patients, easy to use, odorless and does not stain clothes. Clinical trials have confirmed the absence of toxicity in the drug in any form of manifestation (including immunotoxicity), irritation and allergic effect. On the contrary, videstim has anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory and immunostimulating effects.

After application of the ointment, it is easily absorbed into the skin. The maximum concentration of the active substance at the injection site is observed 3-4 hours after applying the ointment. The effect of Videstim lasts for 12 hours from the moment of application to the skin. According to general recommendations, the ointment should be applied to the affected areas of the skin twice during the day: morning and evening. The therapeutic course lasts on average 1-3 months. It should be borne in mind that during treatment it is necessary to refrain from taking other medications that contain vitamin A (otherwise you can “earn” hypervitaminosis). Retinol cannot be combined with tetracycline antibiotics.

Pharmacology

Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin. It has a variety of effects on the functioning of the body. Plays an important role in redox processes (due to the large number of unsaturated bonds), participates in the synthesis of mucopolysaccharides, proteins, and lipids. Retinol plays an important role in maintaining the normal condition of the skin and epithelium of the mucous membranes, ensuring normal differentiation of epithelial tissue, and in photoreception processes (promotes human adaptation to darkness). Retinol is involved in mineral metabolism, the formation of cholesterol, enhances the production of lipase and trypsin, enhances myelopoiesis and cell division processes. The local effect is mediated by the presence of specific retinol-binding receptors on the surface of epithelial cells. Inhibits the processes of keratinization, enhances the proliferation of epithelial cells, rejuvenates cell populations and reduces the number of cells that follow the path of terminal differentiation.

It is believed that retinol has an antitumor effect, which, however, does not apply to non-epithelial tumors.

Interaction

Side effects

Hypervitaminosis A: in adults - drowsiness, lethargy, headache, facial flushing, nausea, vomiting, gait disorders, pain in the bones of the lower extremities; Children may experience fever, drowsiness, sweating, vomiting, and skin rashes.

Possible: increased cerebrospinal fluid pressure (infants may develop hydrocephalus and protrusion of the fontanel).

Age-related skin problems - dryness, wrinkles, sagging contours, pigmentation, etc. can be eliminated not only with the help of salon procedures and expensive anti-aging cosmetics, but also with inexpensive pharmaceutical products.

For example, Videstim ointment.

It contains retinol, which has a stimulating effect on the epithelium, as a result of which wrinkles are smoothed out and the face becomes more youthful.

What kind of drug is this?

Videstim is a medicine that is used for the following problems:

  1. inflammatory pathologies of the skin associated with increased dryness;
  2. slow healing of injured areas of the skin;
  3. disruption of the organizational process.

The drug is prescribed for:

  1. dermatitis;
  2. eczema;
  3. atopic dermatitis (not in the acute stage);
  4. cheilitis;
  5. abrasions and cracks, including cracks in the nipples of the mammary glands.

The active components of the drug have the following effects on the skin::

  1. restore epithelial tissue;
  2. reduce keratinization processes;
  3. reduce dryness and flaking of the skin;
  4. increase local immunity.

The active ingredient of the drug is retinol palminate, a highly concentrated vitamin A that promotes cell growth.

Vidistim is quickly absorbed into the skin and its maximum concentration in the blood is observed 3 hours after application.. The effect lasts about 12 hours, the half-life is 5-6 hours.

Is it effective in treating wrinkles?

Videstim is an ointment that has a regenerating effect on the skin, which is why it is used against signs of skin aging.

The fact is that skin cells on their surface have special “catchers” of retinol, which is included in the composition. By receiving a large amount of vitamin A, the skin structure is evened out, moisturized, and its tone improves.

Despite the fact that Videstim does not have a direct indication for use for cosmetic purposes, experts often recommend it for the treatment of wrinkles.

However, we must not forget that this is still a drug, and it should be used only after consulting a doctor and strictly following the recommended dosages.
