Viosept

Viosept: an antiseptic for the treatment of skin diseases

Viosept is an antiseptic produced by the pharmaceutical companies Polfa (Poland) and Polfa, Elfa SA (Unspecified country). It comes in the form of an ointment and is used to treat various skin diseases.

The composition of the drug includes three components: tripelenamide, clioquinol and domiphene. Tripelenamide has an antibacterial effect and is active against many types of bacteria, including staphylococci and streptococci. Clioquinol also has antibacterial properties and is used to treat infections of the skin and mucous membranes. Domifene is an antifungal component and is effective against many types of fungi, including those that cause mycoses.

Viosept is widely used for the treatment of cutaneous mycoses, staphylococcal pyodermatitis, ordinary impetigo, itching in blastomycosis, superficial skin erosions with corresponding secondary infection, herpes zoster complicated by secondary infection.

The drug is not recommended for use in case of hypersensitivity to its components. Allergic reactions to the skin in the form of redness, itching and rashes are possible.

There is no data on the interaction of Viosept with other medications. There are also no cases of overdose or special instructions for use of the drug.
