Suggestion Verbal

Suggestion is the mental influence of a person on another with the aim of changing his behavior or state. Words in oral, written or other forms are used as stimuli. The degree of suggestibility depends on the personal characteristics of a person. With different signs of suggestion and field-dependent factors in the past, both strengthening and weakening of signs of the disease are observed, which partially confirms the reflex origin of suggestions. F.B. Berezin identified objective difficulties in using G. in the process of psychotherapy: its demonstrativeness, the possibility of resistance from the suggestible patient. In order to overcome this, N. S. Khrushchev developed methods for introducing G. with the help of music and modeling the behavior of popular personalities. Group sessions have become widespread in various psychotherapies.
