Dropsy is not a disease itself, but only an indicator of a disease of some internal organs - the heart, kidneys, liver.
With kidney disease, swelling first appears on the face, then dropsy spreads throughout the body. At the same time, at the beginning of the disease, there is still heaviness near the bladder, urinary retention, and a burning sensation in the bladder.
With heart disease, swelling first appears on the legs and ankles, and then gradually rises upward.
With liver disease, abdominal dropsy appears, which can sometimes reach particularly large sizes.
It is necessary to treat the underlying disease causing swelling, i.e. heart or kidneys, and as soon as swelling is noticed in any place, you must immediately stop consuming a lot of liquid, even water, and not eat salt at all. But consume as many diaphoretic and diuretic vegetables and fruits as possible, such as celery, parsley, asparagus, onions, watermelon, pumpkin, strawberries, black currants, grapes.
Also dairy products, especially sour ones - yogurt, cottage cheese.
Orally from medications as a diuretic, take methenamine 0.3 three times a day.
Home and folk remedies for dropsy, especially abdominal:

A pocket of water or dropsy is a benign tumor located in the subcutaneous fatty tissue. It is quite rare in children. Sometimes the reason to suspect that a child has dropsy is his or her excess weight. In this case, obvious swelling is most often not observed. Redness is often observed on the skin, the skin over the formation is hot and tense. Visually visible is a bright red nodule, ranging in size from a pea to a cherry, delimited by a white-pink rim. Dropsy grows quite quickly, reaching large sizes, 7–15 cm. When they are located on the face, they cause significant cosmetic defects, they also compress nearby vessels and nerves, so the slightest injury when touched causes severe pain.
The formation of dropsy is caused by various etiological factors, of which the first five are divided into endogenous and associated with complications or side effects of therapy, leading to the appearance of extensive hematomas or tissues; the rest are associated with various connective tissue diseases that produce interstitial fluid that supports tumor growth. Often, dropsy is part of genetic syndromes associated with skin manifestations accompanied by tuberous sclerosis, Ehler-Danlos disease (hyperelasticity), congenital heart defects, etc. Doctors distinguish allergic, viral, bacterial or parasitic water pockets. However, not a single scientific work devoted to this particular disease was found. As well as the reasons for the appearance of this phenomenon, there is no absolutely clear information about it. All that exists is folk traditions, stories and myths accumulated by specialists about the causes of its occurrence. This entire basis is unknown to medicine. It is difficult to judge the opinion of some scientists about the possibility of the occurrence of skin formations in the presence of uterine fibroids, for example, since arguments about the formation of the so-called uterine hodgepodge or other external manifestations with an increase in fibroids are limited to the folk experience of our great-grandmothers. At the same time, almost all doctors are unanimous on the issue of the appearance of formations on the genital organs due to breast cancer. Any formations on the mucous membranes, even for no apparent reason, must be examined by doctors not only in a clinical setting, but also through laser therapy and surgical treatment. Doctors do not recommend that people turn to traditional medicine on their own, resort to the help of healers, self-medicate, or try traditional methods on themselves. Even if any neoplasm appears, the diagnosis can only be made by a specialist with the appropriate education.
