Fibrinous inflammation

Fibrinous inflammation is an acute inflammation of the serous membranes, accompanied by the deposition of fibrin on the surface of the affected tissues.

Characteristic features:

  1. Increased body temperature
  2. Pain in the affected area
  3. The presence of fibrinous deposits on the serous membranes
  4. Increased pain when moving due to friction of fibrinous deposits

Reasons for development:

  1. Infectious diseases (pneumonia, meningitis)
  2. Injuries to the serous membranes
  3. Tumor processes
  4. Poisoning

Diagnosis is based on analysis of the clinical picture, laboratory and instrumental research data.

Treatment:

  1. Antibacterial therapy
  2. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs
  3. Drainage of cavities with discharge
  4. Symptomatic therapy

The prognosis depends on the cause of development and timeliness of treatment. With adequate therapy, fibrinous inflammation usually ends in recovery.
