Jaw dislocation

Sometimes it happens that the lower jaw comes out of its neck and the mouth remains open, although this is rare and the dislocation does not occur completely. The dislocated jaw deviates anteriorly, contrary to what happens from the relaxation of the muscles often caused by yawning, and it is difficult to press one jaw against the other,   although the lower jaw is not without movement produced by the muscles approaching from behind.

Sometimes dislocation occurs only on one side, and this is indicated by the position of the jaw, which is then tilted anteriorly and skewed. The treatment in both cases is the same, and such a dislocation is one of those that should be set as soon as possible, otherwise it will lead to various diseases and injuries and it will be difficult to set it, because the quicker it is done, the easier it is to set it. If you put it off, the joint will harden and swell, the muscles will become tense and persistent fevers and constant headaches will begin, since the dislocation is accompanied by severe muscle tension. Sometimes the matter becomes serious and the disease kills on the tenth day, and sometimes it happens that when the stomach is dislocated, it spews out a lot of pure bile excess and the sick person vomits the same juices. Therefore, one should hasten with the treatment, which consists of the following: one person takes the patient by the head, and the chiropractor puts his thumb in his mouth and forces him to relax the jaw on all sides, because there are muscles there that sometimes tighten it, even if it is dislocated. Why does he move his jaw to the right and left, then pull it back at once and then set it? The jaw enters where it came from only from the back, so it should be pulled back to align in this direction; a sign that the jaw has been aligned is the level position of the incisors and the closure of the mouth. Then the jaw is tied up with a bandage with wax ointment and rose oil and left alone, and it gets better in a very short time.

If the doctor did not hurry and a hardening has formed, then the hardening must first be softened by pouring plenty of hot water and oil on it in the bath until it disappears. will soften. Then the chiropractor sits behind the patient, pulls his jaw back until it is in its place, and ties it up, and after that the patient should lie on a pillow stuffed with something very soft, and someone should hold his head so that he did not move until complete recovery occurred.
