Winpoton

Vinpoton is a drug that belongs to the group of drugs that improve cerebral circulation. It is produced in Poland at the Polfa pharmaceutical plant in Grodzis.

The active substance of the drug is vinpocetine. Vinpocetine is synonymous with the term Vinpocetine-NS, and also has other synonyms, such as Bravinton, Vero-Vinpocetine, Vinpocetine-Akos, Vinpocetine-Akri, Vinpocetine-Darnitsa, Vinpocetine-Rivault, Vinpocetine-Rivault 5, Vinpocetine-Rivopharm, Vinpocetine-Sar, Vincetin, Cavinton, Cavinton Forte, Telektol.

The dosage form of Vinpoton is tablets containing 5 mg of vinpocetine. The medicine is used to treat acute and chronic disorders of cerebral circulation, such as stroke, brain injury, atherosclerotic changes in cerebral blood vessels. Vinpoton is also used to treat memory impairment, movement disorders, dizziness, headaches, cerebral vascular spasms, arteriolosclerotic and angiospastic changes in the retina and choroid, arterial and venous thrombosis of the eye vessels, age-related, vascular or toxic (drug-induced) hearing disorders, autonomic manifestations climacteric syndrome.

Vinpoton has contraindications for use in severe cardiac arrhythmias, angina pectoris of a high functional class, pregnancy and lactation. Side effects are also possible, such as hypotension, tachycardia, extrasystole, and an increase in the duration of electrical ventricular systole. With parenteral administration, dizziness, a feeling of heat, redness of the face, and thrombophlebitis at the injection site may be observed.

The interaction of Vinpoton with heparin therapy may increase the risk of hemorrhagic complications. In case of overdose of Vinpoton, gastric lavage, administration of activated charcoal and symptomatic treatment are recommended.

In patients with cardiac pathology, Vinpotine should not be administered intravenously due to the risk of developing arrhythmia, including ventricular fibrillation. You should also be careful when prescribing medication for hemorrhagic stroke, only after the acute phase has completed.
