With a pencil on a stencil

Pencil on a stencil

Kids always enthusiastically draw patterns using stencils. If you have stencils at work, give them to your child and have him trace them with colored pencils. If not, they can be easily made from available office supplies. Cut out shapes of different shapes from thick paper or cardboard that the child can trace.

Memo for the master
If you have difficulty cutting out shapes in the center of the thick paper you are making your stencil from, use the following technique. Make a straight cut from the edge of the cardboard to where you want the shape to be, and then seal it with tape.

To make the stencil durable, leave plenty of space between the cut out shapes.

If your child enjoys this activity, he can continue it at home, using a marker to draw patterns on an old shirt or some other fabric.
