Yuzefovich Operation

Yuzefovich operation is a surgical procedure named after the Soviet surgeon Mikhail Abramovich Yuzefovich. This operation is used to treat various diseases and joint injuries, in particular deforming arthrosis of the knee joint.

The operation consists of removing damaged areas of the articular surfaces and replacing them with endoprostheses. The endoprosthesis is fixed with bone cement. This joint replacement allows you to restore its mobility and reduce pain.

The Yuzefovich operation was proposed in 1968 and is one of the first developments of joint replacement in the USSR. It has significantly improved the results of treatment of patients with severe joint damage. Currently, the surgical technique has undergone some changes, but its basic principles have remained the same.
