Endplates of the epiphysis: Endocrine gland?
Our life is impossible without the constant work of the endocrine glands. The organ that regulates the endocrine system is called the pineal gland, or pineal gland. Neurons in the pineal gland synthesize peptide hormones called inhibin and melatonin, which suppress sex hormones in men, promoting the development of high levels of androgen secretion in women. Interesting variations of the same process occur with the same hormone when other hormones enter the glands or normal development of the prostate occurs. The same thing happens when the body’s stress response occurs when it’s frightened. What does the pineal gland consist of? After all, the main part, known as the “gray body,” is a whole nerve of cells. What is it really like? We will try to figure this out. All that is known about the pineal gland is that it contains only one type of cell - neurons, and to be more precise, only those called interneurons with an inhibitory function, or GABAergic. They are long-lived cells. They are tightly packed together, their processes protrude in all directions, connecting to each other using glial cuffs, as well as the basal dendrites of neighboring neurons. After a certain time, most of them begin
