Zeldox

Zeldox: An effective antipsychotic for the treatment of mental disorders

Zeldox, also known by its international name Ziprasidone, is a pharmacological drug used for the prevention and treatment of schizophrenia and other mental disorders. This antipsychotic is manufactured by Pfizer Ireland Pharmaceuticals (United States of America) and Pfizer/Henry Mack Nasl (Germany). Zeldox belongs to the pharmaceutical group of antipsychotics of different groups and is presented on the market in various dosage forms, including lyophilisate for preparing a solution for intramuscular administration, as well as capsules of different dosages (40 mg, 60 mg and 80 mg).

The active substance in Zeldox is Ziprasidone. The drug has a wide spectrum of action, which allows you to effectively cope with the manifestations of mental disorders. It is recommended for use in schizophrenia as well as other mental illnesses.

However, before using Zeldox, contraindications must be taken into account. The drug is not recommended in case of hypersensitivity to Ziprasidone or any other inactive component of the drug. Its use should also be avoided in cases of prolongation of the QT interval, including congenital long QT syndrome, as well as in the presence of other contraindications, such as recent acute myocardial infarction, decompensated heart failure, arrhythmias requiring the use of class IA and III antiarrhythmic drugs, pregnancy and period breastfeeding.

Various side effects may occur when using Zeldox. These may include asthenia, headache, insomnia or drowsiness, tremor, blurred vision, psychomotor agitation, akathisia, dizziness, dystonic reactions, convulsions (rarely), constipation, dry mouth, dyspepsia, increased salivation, nausea, vomiting, extrapyramidal syndrome and arterial hypertension. Adverse events may have been noted in post-marketing trials of Zeldox, such as postural hypotension, tachycardia, insomnia, and skin rash.

It is important to consider the interaction of Zeldox with other drugs. The use of class IA and III antiarrhythmic drugs and other drugs known to prolong the QT interval is contraindicated during treatment with Zeldox. When using the drug, no significant interaction was observed with inhibitors or inducers of the CYP3A4 isoenzyme, but caution must be exercised when combined with other drugs metabolized by this isoenzyme.

Zeldox is an effective drug for treating mental disorders, but its use must be under medical supervision. The dosage and regimen of the drug should be determined individually, based on the characteristics of the patient and the characteristics of the disease.
