Glands Prostatic External

External prostatic glands (g. prostaticae externae, lnh) are paired glands located on both sides of the prostate. They are appendages of the male reproductive system and produce a secretion that is part of the seminal fluid.

These small glands have a tubular-alveolar structure. Their excretory ducts flow into the prostatic part of the urethra. The secretion of the external prostatic glands contains prostaglandins, fructose and zinc ions. It ensures sperm motility and has a stimulating effect on their functions.

Thus, the external prostatic glands are an important part of the male reproductive system, participating in the formation of full-fledged sperm. Their normal functioning is necessary for the implementation of reproductive function in men.
