Zymosan Suspension

Zymosan suspension is a drug from the group of biogenic agents.

International name - Zymozan.

Synonyms - Zymosan.

Zymosan is a suspension of the cell walls of the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae. It has immunostimulating, anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects.

The mechanism of action of zymosan is based on stimulation of phagocytosis, activation of the complement system and increased production of pro-inflammatory cytokines.

Indications for use:

  1. secondary immunodeficiency states;
  2. prevention and treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases.

Directions for use and dosage:
Adults are prescribed intramuscularly 2-4 ml once a day, for a course of treatment 5-10 injections.

Contraindications:

  1. hypersensitivity to the components of the drug;
  2. autoimmune diseases in the acute stage;
  3. pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Side effects:

  1. allergic reactions;
  2. temperature increase;
  3. pain at the injection site.

Zymosan suspension is used for the treatment of secondary immunodeficiencies and the prevention of infectious and inflammatory diseases. The drug has a stimulating effect on the immune system.
