Indicaties voor gebruik: Hypoglykemie, hypoglykemisch coma, hypovolemie, uitdroging, shock, collaps, intoxicatie (in chirurgische, traumatologische, reanimatiepraktijken); bereiding van medicijnoplossingen.

Contra-indicaties: Diabetes mellitus, verschillende aandoeningen gepaard gaand met hyperglykemie.

Bijwerkingen: Koorts, weefselontsteking op de injectieplaats, trombose en/of tromboflebitis - meestal geassocieerd met schendingen van de asepsis tijdens de bereiding van de oplossing of injectietechniek, hypervolemie, acuut linkerventrikelfalen.
