By using lines cosmetic products Eluage Avene company promises us to smooth out “even the deepest wrinkles«.
ELUAGE RESTORING ANTI-WRINKLE CREAM
Well, let’s take a look at what they write about on the website. Avene company:
Airless bottle with 30 ml dispenser
Advantages:
- Firming properties: The combination of retinaldehyde and hyaluronic acid fragments (HAF) strengthens the skin and activates cell metabolism.
- Anti-wrinkle: Wrinkles gradually smooth out and become less noticeable.
- Nutrition: The main components of plant origin, shea butter and jojoba saturate the skin with vital energy, make it more elastic and restore a feeling of comfort.
- Soothing effect: Thanks to its soothing and anti-irritating effect, Aven thermal water quickly creates a comfortable feeling on your skin.
- Eluage cream is primarily indicated for deep wrinkles and loss of firmness.
Apply Eluage cream in the evenings to your face and neck.
If necessary, apply Eluage Anti-Wrinkle Concentrate topically to wrinkles and deep folds.
Chemical composition:
- Capric/Caprylic Stearic Triglyceride - Made from coconut oil and glycerin. High quality emollient, rich in fatty acids that restore damaged skin surface, moisturizes the skin, and prevents moisture loss. Has anti-inflammatory properties. Claims that this ingredient is comedogenic are not supported by research.
- Squalane is an unsaturated natural hydrocarbon classified as a carotenoid. It was first isolated from shark liver in Japan in 1916. Currently, it is mainly obtained from extra virgin olive oil or from amaranth seed oil. But natural squalene is quickly oxidized by atmospheric oxygen. Therefore, in cosmetics it is not squalene that is used, but its synthetic hydrogenated version - squalane, obtained from organic fatty acids. Squalane is heat stable and does not oxidize upon contact with air. The squalane molecule is similar in its chemical composition to the squalene of human sebum, so it is very well integrated into the lipid layer of the skin barrier and restores it. Squalane increases skin elasticity, accelerates its regeneration, smoothes out fine wrinkles. Suitable for sensitive skin. It increases local immunity, which is why it is often used in the formulation of products for oily, inflamed skin.
- Triethylhexanoin - synthesized from glycerol and fatty acids. Emollient, improves skin condition. Antistatic, used in hair care products. Solvent. Sometimes used as a fragrance. Not absorbed into the skin, non-toxic to the skin.
- Avene Thermal Spring Water - Avene thermal water.
- Glyceryl Stearate is an emulsifier, after its use the skin becomes smooth to the touch.
- PEG-100 Stearate - belongs to a wide group of polyethylene glycols used to thicken the emulsion to improve the penetration of other active ingredients of the cream.
- PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil - hydrogenated castor oil, softens the skin, creates a film on its surface that prevents moisture evaporation.
- Polymethylmethacrylate - belongs to a large group of synthetic film-forming components. Often used in hair care products and moisturizers to create a thin film on the surface of the skin that prevents water evaporation. Refers to "good" ingredients, but can sometimes cause allergies in case of sensitive skin.
- Acrylates/C10 30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer - belongs to a large group of film-forming substances, creates a soft, plastic film on the surface of the skin with water-repellent properties.
- BHT is a synthetic antioxidant that acts in the superficial layers of the skin. Non-toxic.
- Butylparaben, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance (Parfum), Phenoxyethanol, Propylparaben, Red 33, Retinal, Sodium Hyaluronate (Hyaluronic Acid), Triethanolamine
Conclusion:
Just a moisturizing cream for normal to dry skin.
The only ingredients that have any ability to influence the processes skin aging, — Retinal, Sodium Hyaluronate (Hyaluronic Acid) - located in the list of ingredients after preservatives and fragrances. That is, they are practically NONE.
Among the other disadvantages - it’s too “expensive” for such a banal formula; the cream contains no other ingredients that affect skin metabolism, intercellular connections, antioxidants - anything that can slow down the speed skin aging.
ELUAGE GEL CONCENTRATE FOR DEEP WRINKLES
Reading the advertisement of the official website Avene:
Chemical composition:
- Water - Avene thermal water.
- Cetearyl Alcohol - can be obtained synthetically or from coconut oil. Emollient, emulsion thickener, conductive agent for other ingredients.
- Cetyl Esters is a synthetic wax used as an emulsifier and emulsion thickener. "Good" ingredient.
- Caprylic/Capric Triglycer >emollient, see above.
- Ceteareth 20 is a fatty alcohol, necessary to stabilize the emulsion and bind together the ingredients of the drug. Non-toxic to skin.
- Glycol Montanate is an ether of ethylene glycol and montan glycol wax. Emollient and emulsion thickener. Opacifying agent (makes the emulsion opaque). Synonym - Montan Wax, obtained from lignite - brown wax. Often used as a substitute for beeswax. Refers to "good" ingredients.
- Cyclomethicone is a synthetic silicone. Facilitates the gliding and application of cream, softens the skin, and is a conductor of other active ingredients of the cream. Moisturizes, forms a thin film on the skin, non-toxic, solvent, viscosity regulator, softens the skin. Like all silicones, it facilitates the distribution of cream over the surface of the skin and camouflages fine wrinkles. It practically does not penetrate the skin, but it helps other substances penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin. There is no reliable data about its “harmfulness” to the skin, since serious studies have not been conducted.
- Ceteareth 33 is a fatty alcohol, the same as Ceteareth 20.
- Sodium Hyaluronate is a well-known and beloved hyaluronic acid. In its presented form, it is highly soluble in water, but moisturizes only the upper layers of the skin, that is, the stratum corneum of the epidermis. If the product is not washed off the skin, a light film will form to reduce the evaporation of water from the skin surface. But this drug is intended for washing, so hyaluronic acid in this application does not have a significant effect on the skin. I can’t say anything about its deep penetration and “special” formula - there is no indication that it is somehow fragmented into small pieces. Most likely, it is an ordinary large molecule that moisturizes only the stratum corneum of the epidermis.
- Acrylates Copolymer - belongs to the group of film-forming substances. Creates a light film on the surface of the skin, softens the skin.
- BHT, Butylparaben, Carbomer, Fragrance, Phenoxyethanol, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Propylparaben, Red 33, Retinal, Triethanolamine
Conclusion:
Of course, in this gel the concentration hyaluronic acid higher than the previous cream Eluage lines from Avene. But this also doesn’t mean anything (((
Think for yourself - will it be absorbed at all? hyaluronic acid gel into the skin if it is first generously lubricated with oil? I think that you don’t need to have any special knowledge of chemistry to guess that the gel will remain “lying” on top. And in what “miraculous” way will he then be able to penetrate wrinkles and fill them out?)))
Therefore, all the “cons” of the product remain the same. This is a simple moisturizing gel for normal to slightly dry skin. AND THAT'S ALL!
Rating: average.
ELUAGE ANTI-WRINKLE CREAM FOR EYE CONTOUR
Advertising is not particularly different from advertising of previous means Eluage lines from Avene:
Airless bottle with 15 ml dispenser
Advantages:
- Firming properties: The combination of retinaldehyde and hyaluronic acid fragments (HAF) strengthens the skin and activates cell metabolism.
- Anti-wrinkle: Wrinkles gradually smooth out and become less noticeable.
- Decongestant: Dextran sulfate reduces bags under the eyes. The eye contour looks younger.
- Soothing effect: Thanks to its soothing and anti-irritating effect, Avene thermal water quickly creates a comfortable feeling on your skin.
Eluage, Avène's eye contour cream, is especially recommended for wrinkles, bags and dark circles under the eyes.
Chemical composition:
- Water, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Esters, Capric/Caprylic Triglycer >everything repeats)))
- Dextran Sulfate is a polysaccharide that belongs to the group of glycosaminoglycans. It is a moisture-saving ingredient and improves intercellular connections. "Good" ingredient.
- Phenoxyethanol, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Propylparaben, Red 33, Retinal, Sodium Hyaluronate
Conclusion:
The biggest and, unfortunately, ONLY plus of this cream is that it does not contain perfume .
Almost completely replicates the composition of the cream Eluage lines from Avene. All “smoothing” wrinkles will occur due to their filling with emollients and silicones. When you wash off the cream, all the wrinkles will return to you (((
There is no point in spending your money on this product.
Suitable for normal to slightly dry skin as a moisturizer.

- CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCER >emollient, see above.
- ISODECYL NEOPENTANOATE is a synthetic ester of decyl alcohol (fatty alcohol) and neopentanoic acid (fatty acid). An excellent emollient, it lightens the texture of the cream, making it less greasy, improves the spreadability of the cream on the skin, and is a good alternative to silicones. Not comedogenic. Reduces cream stickiness. Non-toxic to skin.
- AVENE THERMAL SPRING WATER (AVENE AQUA) — Avene thermal water.
- GLYCERIN is a humectant that attracts and retains water.
- GLYCERYL STEARATE - emulsifier, see above.

- SIMMONDSIA CHINENSIS (JOJOBA) SEED OIL (SIMMONDSIA CHINENSIS OIL) - jojoba oil. One of the best cosmetic ingredients. Rich in fatty acids identical to skin. Restores damaged skin barrier, protects skin cells, including fibroblasts, from damage by UV rays. Stimulates collagen synthesis and wound healing properties of the skin.
- BUTYLENE GLYCOL - retains moisture in the surface layers of the skin, is an emulsifier and surfactant, and promotes deeper penetration of other active ingredients of cosmetics.
- DIMETHICONE is a chemically inert silicone chemical. Gives the skin softness and velvety, ensures the cream glides over the skin and makes it easier to apply, prevents irritation and redness of the skin, creates a light film on the surface of the skin that does not interfere with skin breathing. Used in plastic surgery for the manufacture of implants. Despite the fact that it creates a film on the skin, it is non-comedogenic (does not clog pores).
- DIPENTAERYTHRITYL PENTAISONONANOATE is a mixture of fatty acids used as an emollient and emulsion thickener. "Good" ingredient.
- BEHENYL ALCOHOL - behenyl alcohol is an oily derivative of vegetable oil alcohols, in particular vegetable oils. Does not dry out the skin and has an anti-inflammatory effect. Used in children's cosmetics. Mainly used as an emulsion thickener.
- PEG-40 HYDROGENATED CASTOR OIL - see above.
- BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII (SHEA BUTTER) (BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII BUTTER) - shea butter, or shea butter. One of the best cosmetic ingredients, rich in antioxidants and fatty acids. Softens and moisturizes the skin, restores the natural moisturizing factor on the skin surface.
- CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC GLYCERIDES. POLYMETHYL METHACRYLATE. BHT. CARBOMER. DISODIUM EDTA. FRAGRANCE (PARFUM). METHYLPARABEN. PHENOXYETHANOL. RED 33 (CI 17200). RETINAL. SODIUM HYALURONATE. SODIUM PROPYLPARABEN. TRIETHANOLAMINE. XANTHAN GUM
Conclusion:
Nourishing cream for dry skin.
Pros - contains ingredients effective for restoring the skin barrier of dry skin such as jojoba oil and shea butter ; contains antioxidants (low concentration, but still))); The texture of the cream is very comfortable, not “heavy”.
Cons - contains synthetic fragrance ; active Anti-age ingredients — retinol and hyaluronic acid — are presented in low concentrations and cannot affect skin renewal processes.
P.S. Another big PLUS of all products Eluage lines from Avene — competent packaging of the product in bottles with a pump, excluding contact of the cream with air and light. Accordingly, all active ingredients remain active until the end of use of the bottle.
It’s just a shame that the concentration of truly active ingredients in these products is negligible. 🙁
To come in
Avene Eluage
I have a friend, she is 43 years old, and she has never taken care of herself. No cosmetics, no procedures, nothing at all. The maximum was to smear it with sour cream or cucumber. For the last 3 years he has been using Clean Line.
Now some will exclaim: “Well done! There’s no point in smearing yourself with all sorts of chemicals! Look, my grandmother only washed her face with baby soap - and at 70 she looks like 35!”
Yes Yes. We'll all get old. Only now the woman is categorically dissatisfied with her appearance, is deeply depressed and is thinking about plastic surgery. But since she doesn’t have the money for Botox and plastic surgery right now, I advised her to just start taking proper care of herself. Cosmetic maniacs know that magic creams tend to happen :))
We needed to take eye cream, anti-wrinkle serum, face cream for the evening and SPF cream for the morning (the last one was La Roche Posay Redermic). And this, frankly, is a lot of money. Having glanced at all kinds of anti-aging products and budgeted, we decided to turn to pharmacy cosmetics.
Given:
“Tired face”: low overall skin tone, a network of wrinkles and bags under the eyes, drooping upper eyelid, a couple of vertical wrinkles on the forehead, many fine wrinkles in the places of nasolabial folds (there are practically no folds themselves due to the structure of the face), and most importantly - age spots on both cheeks the size of a cheek.
What to do?
I would not count on the “Botox effect”, “total anti-aging” and other “innovations”. I don't believe in radical anti-aging care. Anti-age cream can provide more nourishing-moisturizing-exfoliating components; lifting cream can even tighten the skin like a drum. But that's all. Therefore, we were faced with one task - to establish regular facial skin care and try to improve its appearance as much as possible. And then, when the financial situation stabilizes, inject yourself and forget:)
From the pharmacy I like Avene. This is the case when you can get a good result for very modest money. Avene Eluage is a line of products for correcting obvious signs of aging, intended for an audience of 40+. Promises to correct loss of elasticity, wrinkles, and the effects of sun exposure. The products in the line are based on a combination of fragmented hyaluronic acid (H.A.F.) and retinaldehyde 0.05%.
Retinaldehyde, upon penetration into the dermis, is converted into retinoic acid. This component is more beneficial than tretinoin - it is more stable and does not oxidize as easily. Moreover, retinaldehyde, unlike other retinol derivatives, has antibacterial properties. Therefore, such cosmetics can be stored longer under the same conditions.
As for the effect, retinaldehyde is better tolerated by the skin than other retinol derivatives. In other words, the skin will not come off as a stocking, which in itself is wonderful! :) But at the same time, it renews the skin and significantly improves its appearance.
The Eluage line contains a very small dose of retinol (0.05%), but this is quite justified. First of all, you don’t need much to get started. Even 0.025% will have an effect. Secondly, the aldehyde form allows you to effectively and without loss transfer the acid into the deeper layers of the skin. Thirdly, the face will remain a face, and not an extensive burn.
I won’t be able to talk about each product individually, because I’m focusing on a person’s review and observing the changes from the outside, so I’ll tell you as a whole.
1. Avene Eluage gel concentrate for deep wrinkles
Designed for the correction of deep and facial wrinkles (crow's feet, wrinkles in the corners of the lips, nasolabial folds). Contains 0.05% retinaldehyde and 1% hyaluronic acid.
Apply locally to wrinkles in the evening.
The composition is indecently poor, but it is quite neutral and safe for sensitive skin. There are a lot of parabens.
Compound: water, cetearyl alcohol (emulsifier), Aven thermal water, cetyl esters (emollient), caprylic triglyceride (emollient), cetearate-20 (emulsifier), montane glycol (wax), cyclomethicone (silicone), ceteareth-33 (emulsifier), sodium salt of hyaluronic acid (the same fragmented hyaluronic acid), acrylic copolymer (stabilizer), butylated hydroxytoluene (antioxidant), butylparaben, carbomer (stabilizer), ethylparaben, fragrance, isobutylparaben, methylparaben, phenoxyethanol (antiseptic), polymethyl methacrylate (stabilizer), propylparaben, retinal, triethanolamine (pH regulator).
2. Eye contour cream Eluage Avene
Designed to correct signs of aging in the skin around the eyes: wrinkles, loss of firmness, puffiness and sagging. The cream has a very rich texture and a pleasant peach color.
The composition is very poor and sad, but the cream is really thick and moisturizes and nourishes very well. It really smooths out fine wrinkles and even relieves swelling.
There is a nuance. It must be applied at least 2 hours before bedtime, otherwise a “morning in a Chinese apiary” is guaranteed.
Ingredients: water, cetearyl alcohol (emulsifier), Aven thermal water, cetyl esters (emollient), caprylic triglyceride (emollient), cetearate-20 (emulsifier), montane glycol (wax), cyclomethicone (silicone), triethanolamine (pH regulator), ceteareth-33 (emulsifier), butylated hydroxytoluene (antioxidant), butylparaben , carbomer (stabilizer), dextran sulfate (decongestant and draining component), phenoxyethanol (antiseptic), polymethyl methacrylate (stabilizer), propylparaben, retinal (retinaldehyde), sodium salt of hyaluronic acid.
3. Avene Eluage anti-wrinkle cream
Eluage Avene anti-wrinkle cream is designed to correct both age-related signs of aging and those caused by too much sun exposure: loss of skin elasticity, wrinkles and dryness. Active components: fragmented hyaluronic acid 0.5%, retinaldehyde 0.05%.
The cream is quite thick, but is completely absorbed without leaving a film. It was taken as a night cream.
At the beginning of the composition there is an excellent component - squalane (this is a component identical to squalene, but more stable). And squalene is the main ingredient in the lipid mantle of the skin. Thanks to it, the lipid coating performs the function of maintaining the integrity of the stratum corneum. It also serves to maintain the level of elasticity, moisture and softness of the skin. It is found naturally in a variety of sources, from vegetables to fish. In cosmetics, squalene is used as a natural means of moisturizing and softening the skin with a reduced allergic reaction, which does not require fragrances. This ingredient allows the skin to breathe freely and maintain healthy cell activity, promoting natural protection and softness. The component is expensive. I took Caudalie protective cream with squalane and feel a feeling of permanent happiness :))
Compound: water, caprylic triglyceride (emollient), squalane, triethylhexanion (emollient), Aven thermal water, glyceryl stearate (stabilizer), PEG-100 stearate (emulsifier), hydrogenated castor oil (emollient), polymethyl methacrylate (stabilizer), C10-30 acrylate crosspolymer (thickener), butylated hydroxytoluene (antioxidant), butylparaben, disodium EDTA (stabilizer) , fragrance, phenoxyethanol (preservative), propylparaben, retinal, sodium salt of hyaluronic acid, triethanolamine (pH regulator).
Effect:
I liked the fact that the first result appeared quickly - freshness, firmness, removal of puffiness, good complexion and a feeling of comfort. This is important for a person who has never taken care of himself.
1. There really is no irritation, redness, or peeling. Given that the person did not know acids, this was a successful start.
2. Within a week, the first results appeared - the face became lighter and noticeably fresher. Within a month, the skin became denser and a blush appeared.
3. After 2 months, absolutely all small wrinkles smoothed out, and large ones became less pronounced. The face as a whole has become more even. Although, I repeat, large wrinkles have not gone away.
4. The skin around the eyes also became smoother. The swelling went away quite quickly - within a week, and fine wrinkles began to disappear after a month. Although, the big ones are again all in place.
5. Pigment spots on the cheeks have noticeably lightened. I think a couple more months and good sun protection will completely blend into my skin tone.
- from 40 years old
