A stroker and a force-measuring device for assessing its quality

The device under consideration makes it possible to establish the correspondence of the effort developed by the rowers to the given one, the synchronism and number of strokes performed, as well as the approximate shape of the strokes.

The Force Estimator (EFD) is usually placed in a boat (kayak, canoe, etc.). It consists of two interchangeable channels, to each of which you can connect the athlete’s light display (ST). The force assessment device can find application in sports as an operational force-measuring device.

The block diagram of the force estimator is shown in the figure. The operating principle of the POU is as follows. The signal from the strain gauge bridge TM (placed on an oar or any other deformable object), powered by a constant voltage source PS1 and battery B1, is supplied to the operational amplifier OU1, the load of which is the voltage divider DN. The output voltage level is strictly constant and is set during the oar calibration process.

The operating principle of a force-measuring device used in rowing.

When performing a stroke, the signal from the DP is fed to three parallel-connected comparison circuits “less”, “norm”, “more”, made on operational amplifiers OU2, OUZ, OU4, the non-inverting inputs of which are connected to the DP, and the inverting inputs are connected to reference voltage sources.

The reference voltage of the op-amp “norm” corresponds to the signal from the DN at discrete forces specified by the program. The difference in reference voltages (b—a) “norm—less” and (c—b) “more—norm” corresponds to a certain difference in force (in kilograms) and is established during the process of regulation and calibration of the device. The loads of the comparison circuits are triggers, one of the arms of which includes executive relays IE1...IE3, closing power circuits for information lamps on the device and ST, as well as force counters.

As soon as the effort, and therefore the voltage from the DN, exceeds the level of the reference voltage at point A, OU2, 1T1, IE1 are triggered, after which the yellow indicator lamp lights up, informing that the athlete has developed an effort by a given, predetermined value, less norms (2%). At the same time, the force counter is triggered. With a further increase in force, the “norm” and “more” circuits are also triggered, and the green and red lamps of the force measuring device are lit.
