  1. lauric acid: occupies 50% of the oil, effectively copes with bacteria;
  2. oleic acid: a conductor, creates a “bridge” for the penetration of beneficial substances into the stratum corneum of the skin;
  3. linolenic acid: regenerates skin cells, rejuvenates;
  4. hyaluronic acid: the most effective skin moisturizer;
  5. Triglycerides of fatty acids: thanks to these acids, the oil is quickly absorbed into the skin.

In addition, coconut oil for massage includes stearic, palmitic, capric, myristic, and caprylic acids.

The coconut fruit contains minerals such as iron, as well as vitamins: A, C, E, K, PP, B6, B9.

How does oil interact with skin?

When applied to the skin, the oil creates an invisible thin film. The film performs the following functions:

  1. Protective. The skin will be protected from the harmful effects of ultraviolet rays.
  2. Moisture balance. The natural level of moisture in the skin will be retained for a long time.

Important to know: Unlike many other oils, coconut oil does not form a greasy residue. The oil is completely absorbed, and the film is not noticeable.

There are two types of coconut oil: refined and unrefined. The unrefined product has a pronounced smell, the full composition of vitamins is preserved. The essence of the coconut fruit has a liquid consistency and a transparent color. Refined oil has a less pungent odor and a more yellowish tint; it contains fewer vitamins. Refined coconut oil is more suitable for massaging.

On a note:

  1. If you are sensitive to odors, it is better to use the refined version.
  2. Refined oil is more suitable for the face, since the epidermis of the face is more sensitive and delicate.
  3. Refined liquid is more convenient to use due to its greater fluidity at room temperature.
  4. Cosmetologists do not recommend using unrefined facial oil for people with oily skin or a tendency toward oiliness. Coconut fruit essence can clog pores and cause acne. Fragrant gold is ideal for dry, sensitive skin.
  5. The oil makes it possible to care for the skin of babies, however, only in diluted form. In its pure form it can cause allergies.

Adults should also use the product in its pure form with caution. First, test the essence for allergies. To do this, apply a couple of drops of oil to your wrist and leave for 12 hours. If after the expiration of the period the dermis remains calm, the oil can be used without impurities.

If desired, you can experiment with the oil by adding different ingredients to it. The easiest option is to dilute with water. Can be mixed with cream and used as a massage product. Coconut oil can be combined with many essential oils, as well as mixed with other cosmetic oils in equal proportions.

Rubbing with coconut oil is best done for no more than half an hour. The massage procedure can be carried out at home, as well as in beauty salons or special massage rooms.

When planning to perform self-massage or going to a specialist, there are several rules that will improve the result of the procedure:

  1. Before the massage procedure, steam your skin under a hot shower, visit a sauna or bathhouse - this way, the skin will better absorb beneficial substances;
  2. then use a body scrub or a hard washcloth to remove the stratum corneum - this will help the pores open and nutrients to penetrate the layers of the epidermis faster and in larger quantities;
  3. When using the product at home, before the procedure, heat it in a water bath to create a more liquid consistency.

Features of coconut oil

Coconut oil is an environmentally natural product, produced without the use of chemicals: thickeners and fragrances, flavors and dyes.

Coconut oil is resistant to rancidity due to slow oxidation. Thus, it can be stored for up to two years.

The condition of coconut oil is temperature sensitive. It cannot be stored at normal room temperature. Already at 25 degrees the oil thickens and acquires a yellowish tint. At zero, the oil turns into a soap-like solid. This state of the product is called “batter”.

Due to its special thick consistency, the product is poured into cylindrical containers rather than bottled.
