Lancome face mask

Many people are familiar with hydrogel patches and many use them; today we add a story about hydrogel patches for the eye area and a hydrogel face mask from the brand Lancome.

So, Lancome Genifique Yeux Light-Pearl, eye mask in patches.

From the manufacturer: Lancôme eye patches contain the highest concentration of probiotics, are 100% absorbed by the skin, restore the functioning of all skin cells and preserve its youth, provide the delicate skin of the eyes with instant lightening, and have a rejuvenating effect. In just 10 minutes, the patches give the eyes a fresh, rested look, moisturize and rejuvenate the skin. The mask with which the patches are soaked has a delicate texture that melts upon contact with the skin.

I'll start with the composition, in which probiotics in the form of bifidobacteria lysate are really in second place. I wrote about the benefits of probiotics and prebiotics in cosmetics here

Also included vitamin C in the form of ascorbyl glucoside with antioxidant effect, escin - saponin, which is extracted from horse chestnut seeds and which has an anti-inflammatory effect, strengthens blood vessels, increasing their tone, has an anti-edematous effect, and an antioxidant. It works in synergy with it caffeine.

Interesting - hydrolyzed conchiolin protein. Conchiolin is an organic protein substance that lines the outer layer of shellfish and pearl shells. Conchiolin protein provides protection against darkening of the skin and excess pigment formation in it.

Also contains anti-aging adenosine, yeast extract, which, by the way, belongs to prebiotics, algae extract.

There is also a minus - alcohol in fifth place, I personally don’t like it and try to avoid it in skincare products.

Each mask is packed in a separate bag.

And, in turn, it is sealed on top.

It takes a lot of effort to remove this sticker.

Under the sticker, “in the bath,” are the patches themselves, soaked in a whitish essence.

There is a smell, but weak and pleasantly floral.

Next, everything is as usual - we take out the patches and stick them on the eyelid area.

The patches themselves are quite dense, but not rubbery.

They fit very tightly to the skin and do not slip. They were sufficiently saturated with the essence, but not too much; for example, I pulled the rest out of the packaging with my finger and smeared it under the patches and on top.

Patches are made from biocellulose, which is obtained through microbiological fermentation of natural coconut juice.

Biocellulose itself is a source of useful amino acids, vitamins, and microelements. It perfectly follows the contours of the face and sits as if glued, very tightly, due to which there is a feeling of compression.

After some time, the patches begin to “thinner”, as if they are melting, becoming more transparent, sticking even more, while still exerting the same pleasant pressure, the skin underneath remains moisturized.

I wore them not for 10-15 minutes, as usual, but for 40, or even an hour. After removing the patch, the skin under the eyes is of incredible quality - smoothed, moisturized, not a single wrinkle or crease, nourished, brightened.

All these effects, of course, do not last long, about half a day. An excellent product as a “Cinderella mask” for going out.

Lancome Genifique Hydrogel Melting Mask, hydrogel face mask.

From the manufacturer: Advanced Génifique hydrogel melting face mask contains the same amount of bifidobacteria as an entire bottle of Advanced Génifique serum. The face mask is created using hydrogel matrix technology and contains bifidobacteria extract. The innovative texture of the fabric mask seems to melt in contact with the skin, giving the skin freshness, even tone and smoothness.

All the same bifidobacteria lysate in third place, plus, lactic bacilli lysate, which is great for dehydrated skin, madecassoside, one of the triterpenes of Centella asiatica, which stimulates the synthesis of collagen types I and III. I wrote about him here.

Also included hydrolyzed wheat proteins, yeast extract, adenosine, allantoin.

The mask is packaged in a separate bag and is located between two layers of film.

Method of use: remove one layer of film, apply the mask to the face, straighten and smooth it, remove the second layer of film. 

The mask is dense, feels like a squid body, is slightly springy, and is also made of biocellulose.

There is enough impregnation, I even smeared my hands up to the elbows with the remaining essence. However, liquid does not flow from the mask.

It, like the patches for the eye area, fits the face very tightly. The only problem I had was with the fit on the area between the nose and cheeks, where I cut the mask (either the nose is large, or the face is wide, or all together 😉)

Here you can clearly see how well the mask fits your face, like a second skin. It is very comfortable, it does not come off anywhere, does not hang from the chin, it is practically not felt, however, it has a quite noticeable lifting effect.

I wear the mask for at least an hour, after removal the skin is soft, smooth, moisturized, elastic, even in color, not sticky. I also noticed that the mask does a good job of removing morning puffiness, making the contours of the face clearer.

The effect lasts about 8 hours, then disappears.

To summarize. I really liked the masks, including the first one, despite the presence of alcohol in the composition, but if possible, I will of course avoid it. All the effects of the mask declared by the manufacturer are fulfilled - the skin is tightened, elastic, even in color, moisturized.

Olya Sh.: “The mask works perfectly: it saves me from flaking, nourishes and moisturizes my skin, which is usually in two states: dry and very dry. And after literally three to five uses of the Deeply Nourishing Mask, it clearly became softer and smoother. The irritated areas calmed down, brightened, and overall complexion became better.”

Yana Z.: “One of those (very few) masks that are guaranteed to help or at least not interfere. The smell is pleasantly fresh. The texture is not mega-dense, closer to a regular rich cream. In the prescribed 10 minutes, it is partially absorbed, partially not, remove it with a napkin and rinse with water. The skin feels moisturized, Olya Sh. is right, you don’t feel the need for any other care. In general, this thing is now always in my refrigerator, or in my backpack, or in the glove compartment of my car. Just in case. You never know."

Masha: “The texture – in appearance and smell – is lemon jelly, but you can’t find any crusts. However, I didn’t see any whole calendula petals in the jar. But I felt their effect - the tone after the mask becomes even and fresh.

The mask does not moisturize much, but as if on the surface. If you are waiting for a dramatic relief from dryness, this is not for you. But after a day of agrofitness with a shovel and a hoe, applying it to hot skin will be just the thing - it will cool you down and not overload.”

Yana Z.: Gorgeous mask, simply gorgeous. Here, on one of the three hot days in May, I planted something like petunias in a flowerbed. (Or maybe marigolds, or maybe pansies, I’m still a Michurinite, but standing in a dog - or maybe in a cat - facing down is always wonderful, isn’t it? :) So, the face after this pose was still the same. Red, weathered and offended. I plopped this mask on my face. Ah, happiness. It's cold. Pulls up. Comforts. Moisturizes. (Masha is right - on the surface, yes. Not like those with hyaluronic acid. But comfortable.) I removed it after 5 minutes with warm water, as per the instructions. It was as if the irritation and resentment were washed away with her.”

Olya T.: “The mask does not disappoint: it is light, gel-based, smells amazing, and works in just three minutes. I confirm everything stated in the release: it exfoliates very gently (I hate it when scrub particles scratch the skin), cools, tightens pores (as I understand it, precisely due to cooling), refreshes the complexion (I think due to this).”

Ira: “Does everything that is needed: smoothes, improves complexion, tones well, so the effect of tightening pores is noticeable. With sensitive skin, however, it is better to be careful - it may turn red (however, this goes away quickly). I wouldn’t consider this product as a serious exfoliant: the scrubbing particles are of different sizes and very gentle. Rather, you should count on improved microcirculation as a result of massage.”

Yana Z.: “I was definitely captivated by the form factor. Two masks in one jar - that’s great! Based on the results, I can say: both masks work, and together they are definitely better than individually. You wash it off - wow effect. The pores are tight, the skin is porcelain, who is so beautiful. And most importantly - a stunning lifting effect, which was not even declared separately. But it turned out to be even more pronounced than many special lifting masks.”
