Tumors are hot, cold, friable, and cold, hard. We have already listed them. The causes of tumors are either external or previous. The antecedent cause is, for example, the overflow of the body with juices, and the external cause, for example, is a fall, blow or bite.
Tumors arising from external causes either coincide with the overflow of the body with juices, or are formed when the juices are in a balanced state and do not occur from the overflow of the body. Those tumors that arise from previous causes and from external causes coinciding with the fullness of the body are necessarily either located in organs adjacent to the dominant organs, which seem to serve as a place of emptying for the dominant organs, or are not located there. If the tumors are not located there, then at first it is absolutely impossible to apply any dissolving drugs to them. On the contrary, the expelling organ must first recover if the tumor is located in the expelling organ, or the whole body must recover if the tumor is not located in a separate organ, and all medicines that drive away the juices, divert them in another direction and bind them should be applied to the tumor in every possible way. . Sometimes the juices are diverted to another organ located on the opposite side, through exercise, or by carrying heavy objects on that side. Thus, bad juice is often diverted from a swollen hand if a weight is taken with the other hand and held for some time.
As for astringent drugs, for tumors with a hot nature one should resort to astringents and deflectants in their pure form, and for cold tumors - in a mixture with substances that have hot strength and the ability to bind, such as rush and “fragrant marigolds”. As swelling increases, the proportion of the binding drug decreases and the dissolving drug increases until the tumor develops completely; then both drugs are mixed equally. When the tumor begins to fall off, they limit themselves to dissolving and softening medications. For cold, friable tumors, the medicine that disperses them must be hotter and more drying than for hot tumors. Here!
As for tumors arising from an external cause, and there is no overflow of juices, then first they should be treated by softening and dissolving, and then - in the same way as the first type is treated. If a swollen organ is a place of emptying for the dominant organ, such as glandular places on the neck near the ears - for the brain, armpits - for the heart, groin - for the liver, then it is completely unacceptable to use repellent drugs on them, not because this is not a remedy treatment of such tumors - on the contrary, this is precisely the means of treating them - but we prefer not to treat such tumors, but try to enlarge them and attract matter to them, regardless of the fact that the harm to this organ will increase, because we are looking for benefit for the dominant organ and we are afraid that if we drive away the matter, it will go towards the dominant organ, and something will happen from this that cannot be corrected. Therefore, we prefer that harm befall a low-ranking organ, since this is for the benefit of the dominant organ, and we even try to attract matter to the low organ and cause a tumor in it, at least with the help of cups and bandages with hot extractive medicines.
When tumors of this kind or others accumulate pus, especially tumors in cavities, they sometimes burst by themselves or with the help of means that cause ripening, and sometimes it is necessary to force them to ripen and open. It is possible to induce maturation with drugs that, along with warmth, contain a occluding and enveloping principle that locks heat into the tumor.
Anyone who tries to bring about ripening by such means must carefully observe: if he notices that the innate warmth is weak, and sees that the organ is tending towards destruction, then he removes the occluding and enveloping ones from it and uses opening agents and a deep incision, and then In addition, there are medicines that can dissolve and dry out, as we will exhaustively outline in the Book of Private Diseases.
The tumor often lies deep, so it needs to be pulled up to the skin, at least with the help of fire cans.
As for solid tumors that have passed the initial stage, the rule requires that they first be softened from time to time with means that reduce heat and drying, so that the dense parts of the tumor do not harden due to the strong dissolution of juices and in order to prepare the entire tumor for dissolution, and then it subjected to enhanced dissolution. After this, if there is a fear that the dissolution of what has dissolved will cause hardening of the parts of the tumor that remain dense, the tumor is softened a second time and does not stop until the entire tumor disappears during dissolution and softening.
Tumors with swelling use medicines that are warming and have a subtle substance to dispel the wind and expand the pores. The fact is that the cause of tumors with swelling is the density of the wind and clogged pores. Care should also be taken to stop the formation of matter from which wind vapors arise.
Among the tumors there are ulcerative tumors, such as rashes. They should be cooled, like cellulitis, but should not be moistened, although tumors generally require moisturizing. On the contrary, they must be dried, because in this case the manifestation of the disease has overcome its cause. The manifestation here is ulceration, expected or already occurred, and ulceration is treated by drying, and the most harmful thing for it is moisturizing.
As for internal tumors, the matter in them must be reduced by bloodletting and relaxation of the stomach. A patient with such a tumor should avoid baths, wine and excessive bodily and mental movements, such as anger and similar feelings. Then, at the beginning of the disease, repellent medications are used, but without lifting heavy weights, especially if the tumor is in the stomach or liver. When the time comes to dissolve the tumor, you should not give up astringent medicines with a pleasant smell, as we briefly indicated in the previous one: the liver and stomach need this more than the lungs. Medicines used to "soften the nature" must cause maturation and be suitable for tumors; such as, for example, nightshade and cassia. Nightshade has the property of dissolving hot internal tumors. Those suffering from such a tumor should be fed only
leg and not during an attack if the tumor is in the initial stage, except in cases of great weakness. If a patient suffers from a combination of a tumor in the insides with a loss of strength, then he is on the way to death, since strength is supported only by nutrition, and increased nutrition is the most harmful thing with a tumor. And if the tumor has resolved, then there is nothing better than nutrition; if it bursts, then you need to drink something that will wash it out, such as honey water or water with sugar. After this, you should eat food that gradually promotes ripening and dries, and in the end the matter is limited to just drying food. You will receive information about this with a detailed interpretation in the Book containing data on specific diseases.
Doctors are sometimes mistaken about internal tumors located below the abdomen; often it is not a tumor, but a hernia, and opening it is dangerous, and sometimes it is really an internal tumor, but not in the peritoneum, but in the intestines themselves, and opening it is dangerous.
