But, despite such a harsh and restrained upbringing, the boy grew up to be a strong, athletic guy with a pronounced athletic physique. In high school, he played on the school American football team, and was extremely successful. The guy’s career was growing rapidly, but at one of the championships Mike received a serious leg injury, after which he decided to say goodbye to this sport. However, being a very purposeful and active young man, he could not sit idly by for a long time, and decided to try himself in a new business - this is how the young American came to bodybuilding. Oddly enough, his parents were not at all against this decision, and his father, on the contrary, even supported the guy in his endeavors..

After graduating from school, Mike, on his own initiative, entered the Bratislava College for Preachers, from which he soon successfully graduated with honors. Throughout his studies at this institution, he, as before, trains hard and carefully studies all the news and trends in the world of bodybuilding. In addition, training in the gym helps him meet his future wife, Shannon. It so happened that, by the will of fate, this girl attended the same gym with Mike, and their chance acquaintance was able to turn his whole life around. Also, with her, Michel found new life ideals and clearly understood for himself that the preacher's cassock would not give him the satisfaction he would like. Having gotten engaged to Shannon a year and a half later, Mike began to work in the field of bodybuilding at the most serious level.

Since 1987 he started take part in tournaments, but success, like a wave, covered the athlete only in 1994. In this fateful year, both Chicago Pro And "Night of Champions", bringing the desired, long-awaited first places. Another year - a brilliant victory at the Arnold Classic, during which the ambitious American was able to beat Flex Wheeler himself. Mike's incredible victorious rise was rapidly developing, gaining ever greater heights, but to achieve it, he had to work on himself for days, polishing just the ideal proportions...

Everything was going great until the fateful year 1997, when the world-famous bodybuilder suddenly received a terrible diagnosis - stomach cancer and cirrhosis of the liver. Despite this, such a strong-willed and strong-willed athlete like Mike Francos could not just throw his hands up and give up. With the help of his champion body and amazing willpower, he was able to somehow get out and, after more than six months of chemotherapy treatment, was able to return to normal life again.

At that time there was a lot of gossip and speculation about what was the true cause of Champion's illness. Many rumors continue to this day. As you probably already guessed, the most common of them is the version about the harm caused by the use of all kinds of chemicals to accelerate the growth of muscle mass. However, Francos himself, in one of his interviews, denied these rumors, saying that the real reasons for his illness were of a completely different nature. He also repeatedly focused the attention of the press on the fact that he himself is an ardent supporter of exclusively healthy sports, and therefore considers the use of any sports chemical stimulants to be extremely undesirable and even unacceptable.

Naturally, there could be no question of further continuation of a bodybuilding career after such a serious illness, but after calculating and assessing all his knowledge, abilities and skills, as well as many years of experience, Mike decided to join international judging committee Bodybuilding Federation. In addition, he began to write articles, notes and even entire books about “iron sports”, giving interviews about fitness, bodybuilding, correct and consistent training directions, diets, supplements, techniques, etc. His author's works have been published in such well-known glossy publications as Flex, Muscle & Fitness, Iron Man, etc.
