Here, Yulia and I recently found out that humanity is also divided into those who believe that picking a finger in a jar of lip balm and then touching the holy lips with the same finger is unhygienic and ugh. And those who find this process sexy. And for those who don’t care, as long as the balm is cool.

We will not argue who is right. Everyone has right to left. Personally, on the one hand, I can’t help but admit that some people find poking around really sexy. In principle, I don’t mind it myself, but I have another problem - I don’t know what to do with my finger later :) Well, that is, it’s in balm, yes, and napkins are the last thing I carry with me, and therefore the whole iPhone, and the steering wheel and the buttons on the coat are also in it, it’s complicated, life is so complicated, ah.

In general, I divided the list of favorite lip balms into two. The first - those in sticks and tubes - I will publish now. The second, in jars - as usual, never a little later. Plus, Julia promised to write a review about her “bests”. You can never have too many balms :)

1. COLLAGENIST RE-PLUMP LIP ZOOM, HELENA RUBINSTEIN

White, quite transparent (that is, transparent for a balm, not like glitter, of course), without any special features - no special taste, no special smell. But there is a visual splash effect, which is sometimes very useful. We can’t say anything about long-term lip augmentation, but it doesn’t make it smaller - that’s for sure :) It distributes well - it doesn’t thicken much in the tube even in the cold and is very comfortable. Not sticky at all. It lasts quite a long time - a strong desire to apply lipstick again appears after about 4 hours. Heals minor sores.

The only negative is the price. Alas, - 3,000 rubles.

2. MOJITO LIP BALM, (MALIN+GOETZ)

Transparent almost like gloss and fits perfectly even on lipstick or other (colored, but not protective) gloss, which is rare for balms. It smells slightly (very slightly) of mint and lime, but, alas, does not have the taste of mojito (and especially its cheerful properties). But it holds tenaciously and protects well from wind and frost. An aesthetic and very small tube - with certain educational skills, you can convince even a male child who is afraid of all cosmetic gadgets like fire to use this thing.

Price - 630 rubles, sold in Cosmotheca stores.

3. ULTRA RICH LIP TINT, CLARK’S BOTANICALS

This is a unique product - I don’t know of a second product that would give quite a noticeable color and would take such excellent care of the lips. Saves me the second winter. It doesn’t stick, it doesn’t spread, it applies well (you know, there are those balms in tubes that you then have to spread over your lips with your finger? So this one, don’t.) Contains jojoba, shea butter, coconut and aloe. Available in 7 shades, from pink-neutral-decent to quite fatal reds. They all smell the same - something sweet and childish, and taste the same. This is the main drawback: you want to lick your lips all the time because it’s delicious.

Price - 790 rubles, sold in Cosmotheca stores.

4. FLAWLESS SKIN LIP SILK, LAURA MERCIER

The most unphotogenic tube, and very tiny - probably 4 centimeters. And the only one that is supposed to be applied as a skin care product - twice a day, morning and evening. (But if you apply it 5 times a day, you won’t become a baby goat either.) The consistency is a little denser than Vaseline, opaque, not shiny, but rather matte. It doesn't have any special taste. Over the course of a couple of nights, he once tidied up my deathly chapped lips, for which I swore my eternal love to him.

Price - about 25 euros (?), bought in Europe. It’s not sold here, but it’s a pity - it’s a great thing, really.

5. HYDRAQUENCH MOISTURE REPLENISHING LIP BALM, CLARINS

Probably the most easily accessible and well-known of all the above remedies. Moisturizing and comfort without unnecessary headaches - where to buy and how to make money on it :) It smells barely perceptible (manufacturers insist that it is rose, but I have my doubts :) In the tube the color is also pink, but I wouldn’t delude myself - it’s on the lips, Rather, it enhances the natural color rather than giving any additional color. In a strong wind or at -15 Celsius, however, you would want to apply something denser, but if you don’t talk about some kind of extreme, then the thing is excellent. With this post I want to say that I finally decided to expand the blog format a little =).

I’ll start with the balms that are probably already known to almost everyone. Carmex, I have two of these in a jar and a tube.

Carmex in a jar has a slightly pungent odor, reminiscent of “Zvezdochka”, declared by the manufacturer as medicinal. For me, it copes with its function 100% - you apply it at night and in the morning you have very well-moisturized soft lips, without peeling or cracking. I only use it at home, it is very economical to use, the only negative is its packaging format, which is not a very convenient jar for use.

Carmex in a tube with cherry scent, I always carry it with me, you can literally use it on the run and without a mirror. It moisturizes well, feels pleasant on the lips, is not sticky at all, is quickly absorbed, but it seems to me that its care properties are worse than those of Carmex in a jar. Its plus for me is its use as a base for problematic lipsticks, which can be poorly applied, highlight uneven lips and all that. I apply it at the very beginning of the make-up, while the makeup is absorbed, I blot it with a napkin and apply lipstick. Lipsticks with a not very flexible character fit much better on this balm.

Very popular and very controversial EOS balms — I have three of them (the aroma of lime, mint and coconut). Their properties are absolutely identical, the aroma on the lips does not last long. They moisturize, but the effect does not last long, one can say that they do not provide any lip care, rather for pampering and for the sake of cute packaging. Not sticky or greasy at all, they leave a very pleasant feeling on the lips. Of all my balms, the eos jar is the most convenient for me, it’s a pleasure to use! Not suitable for you if you want nutrition, elimination of cracks, peeling and protection during the cold season.

Lip balm VOV - This is also a fairly well-known Korean balm, mine has a strawberry scent. Very pleasant consistency, soft, delicate, slightly oily, melts on the lips, does not leave a greasy film or stickiness. The smell is pleasant, not chemical, delicate strawberry! Gives lips a barely noticeable pinkish tint. Well moisturizes and nourishes, lips are soft and well-groomed, suitable for winter. Again, the downside is the packaging, which is not very convenient to apply.

Lip balm Spivak – Cafe Noir. It smells like natural coffee and after application does not leave a slight aftertaste of coffee beans for long. The composition is completely natural: almond butter, shea butter, cocoa butter, macadamia butter, avocado and carnauba wax, roasted coffee extract, cocoa mass. The color is rich coffee, but does not add any tint to the lips. The consistency is thick, like butter, melts on the lips, absorbs well, moisturizes and nourishes, feels gentle and soft, not sticky or greasy at all, in general, I really like its skincare properties! Plus, its jar is much wider than Carmex and VOV, so it’s convenient to use, you can just touch it with a kiss and that’s it =).

And lastly Victoria's Secret Glossy Lip Oil - glossy lip oil. He was terribly attracted by the packaging, a jar with a roller dispenser, inside a two-phase oily liquid, half transparent, half green. It looks amazing..and that’s where its positive qualities end =)). My coconut-flavored balm (yes, I’m a fan of it =))), it’s very convenient to apply from such a stick, but its contents were completely disappointing, just some kind of oily oil =)), not sticky, but it lays on the lips like a greasy film, which doesn’t really want to be absorbed. It does not look glossy, but oily, it is clear that the lips are smeared with something very greasy. It has no care properties, literally at all.

And finally, I’ll say that the most important thing for me is Carmex in a jar, VOV and Spivak are a little behind, but are more loved for their pleasant smell.
