Definition

Skincare cosmetics are included in the daily facial care program and are also used for procedures in the salon. In each specific case, it is selected individually, based on the natural skin type and its condition. Cosmetics may differ in the following ways:

If you have problem skin, you should entrust the selection of skincare products to a cosmetologist. This is especially true for medicinal products. It is not recommended to “prescribe” them to yourself.

Even the owner of “ideal skin” cannot do without daily facial care. Depending on your natural characteristics, it is important to choose cosmetics that suit your specific skin type. Products are available for the following skin types:

  1. normal;
  2. fat;
  3. dry;

By area of application

The differences between cosmetic products are determined by their area of application. Cosmetics may differ in the following ways:

There are separate cosmetic lines for men's and women's cosmetics.

The difference in this case is not only in the flavorings used. The structure of women's and men's skin is slightly different. For example, men's skin is 25% thicker than women's. Accordingly, cosmetic products are developed taking these features into account.

conclusions

In order for facial skin care to be as effective as possible, it is necessary to accurately determine the characteristics of the skin and use cosmetic preparations systematically and regularly. Just 10 years ago, most of us had no idea about the existence of cosmetics with the “organic” label. Today, the opinion that everything chemical is harmful, and everything natural is healthy, is taken almost as an axiom, and sales of organic cosmetics in the USA and Europe alone increase annually by 20%.

Cosmo recommends

Romance! Fashionable polka dot dresses for a gentle summer look

Roll up! Fashionable shorts with roll-ups to create the effect of long legs

In fact, the fashion for natural cosmetics began 40 years ago, its founders were hippies. They were the first to reconsider their attitude towards the creams and shampoos they used, and it was they who introduced the term “organic cosmetics” - that is, cosmetics consisting entirely (or mostly) of plant ingredients. Regular contributor to Cosmo, beauty blogger Ekaterina Shevchuk on “the dog ate the dog” cosmetics. We asked her to share her favorite organic brands and products.

What you need to know about organic cosmetics?

  1. It is not tested on animals (neither the final product nor its individual components).
  2. The only animal ingredients allowed are bee products and lactic acid.
  3. All plants included in cosmetic products are grown and processed under certain conditions.
  4. Most “green” brands use cosmetic containers made from natural materials (they are easier to recycle).
  5. Certificates from international organizations such as USDA and ECOCERT indicate compliance with strict quality standards for natural cosmetics.
  6. Organic cosmetics are best stored in the refrigerator, and it is also important to strictly observe the expiration date of the products.

One of the main adherents of organic cosmetics in the modern world is Gwyneth Paltrow. In her opinion, synthetic components in cosmetics contribute to a number of diseases such as cancer, autism, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease. The actress’s favorite brands are Aveda and Dr. Hauschka (by the way, I completely agree with her choice).

Cosmetics with hyaluronic acid: a panacea or a marketing ploy?

To be honest, I am not an ardent animal advocate, a vegan or a fan of natural cosmetics. But some time ago I discovered that a good half of my favorite cosmetics for face, body and hair care have the “organic” icon. And yes, perhaps completely organic face creams cannot completely rid you of deep wrinkles, heavy pigmentation or sagging, but they perfectly moisturize, balance and restore our skin. They also normalize its natural biorhythms and activate the production of elements such as hyaluronic acid, collagen and elastin. And now I want to introduce you to my personal rating of cosmetic products with the “Organic” prefix.
