Acid

Axid is an H2-histamine receptor blocker developed by Eli Lilly (Italy) and Eli Lilly (Spain).

The main active ingredient is nizatidine. Available in the form of capsules of 150 mg and 300 mg, as well as in the form of a solution for intravenous administration (25 mg/ml).

Indications for use: peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum, reflux esophagitis, pancreatitis, bleeding from the upper gastrointestinal tract.

Contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity, pregnancy, breastfeeding and in childhood.

Possible side effects: liver dysfunction, drowsiness, confusion, heart rhythm disturbances, anemia, thrombocytopenia, sweating, skin reactions.

Interacts with aspirin and antacids. An overdose causes increased salivation, vomiting, diarrhea and other symptoms.

The recommended daily dose is no more than 480 mg. Dose adjustment is required if renal function is impaired. Before prescribing the drug, it is necessary to exclude the presence of malignant neoplasms of the stomach.
