Adeno

Aden - a city in the south of Yemen, the administrative center of the governorate of the same name. Population - 1,033,552 people (2004).

Located on the southern tip of the Arabian Peninsula, on the shores of the Gulf of Aden, at the entrance to the Gulf of Aden.

The city is the country's largest port and an important economic center. A transport corridor passes through it, connecting Yemen with Saudi Arabia, Oman and Eritrea. Aden is home to Yemen's largest port, the Aden International Seaport.

Aden is home to the headquarters of the Yemen Anti-Narcotics Organization and the headquarters of the Yemeni branch of the international organization Red Cross.

Aden is one of the most densely populated cities in Yemen. It is home to more than a million people and its population accounts for about 10% of Yemen's total population. The city is the third most populous in Yemen after Sana'a and Taiz.
