Syphilitic aphthae

Syphilitic aphthae (Aphthomasia) is an infectious skin disease caused by the bacterial infection Treponema pallidum, which is manifested by the formation of ulcerative defects on the mucous membranes and skin. The disease is characterized by the appearance of various types of aphthae, which can be single or multiple. In some cases, canker sores may be accompanied by symptoms of fever, sore throat, myalgia and lymphadenopathy. The course of aphthous diseases can be long, but with timely treatment and proper prevention, the disease quickly passes. Aphthae of a syphilitic nature are not contagious, but genital fissures and disturbances in the trophism of the mucous membranes can become a complication of the disease
