Acroasphyxia

Acroasphyxia is a hypoxic coma that develops suddenly due to impaired blood supply to some distal parts of the extremities while maintaining the main circulation. Unlike other forms of coma, acroasphyxia does not develop accidentally, but after very strong physical overload and violations of safety precautions and rules of behavior at height. It is observed in mountain climbers, rock climbers descending from great heights, dance lovers, etc. With acroasphyxia, the cause of pain in the hands, decreased pulse and loss of consciousness is a sharp drop in intraocular pressure that occurs when the person stops active physical work, opening the external opening of the vein of the hand.

Acroaskyxia (Greek ἀκρο- - high + ἄσφύξις - asphyxia, strangulation) - a form, a type of fainting, acute dynamic loss of consciousness
