Albarran operation (from the Latin abruptus - sudden, sharp; named after the surgeon Garcio Albarrán Domingo de la Cuella, Spanish Garci Albarrán Domínguez, 1526-1590) is a surgical procedure used in cosmetology to remove small excess skin of the eyelids. It is an emergency procedure and is performed without anesthesia. There are two types of Albarran surgery: de-epithelialization of the red border of the lips and blepharochalasis.
