Marshmallow syrup is a popular herbal medicine.

Pharmacological group: antitussives and expectorants of plant origin.

International name: Althaea officinalis (Marshmallow).

Synonyms: Althea, Terra-plant Althea.

Ingredients: marshmallow roots, dry marshmallow root extract containing plant mucilage, asparagine, betaine, pectin, starch. Marshmallow syrup contains dried marshmallow root extract and sugar syrup.

Indications for use: diseases of the upper respiratory tract, gastritis, peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum.

No contraindications or side effects were identified. There is no data on interaction and overdose.
