Dosage forms - tablets 500 mg
Composition - Active ingredient - algeldrate.
Indications for use - Gastrointestinal diseases with increased gastric secretion: esophagitis, acute gastritis, acute duodenitis, peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum in the acute phase; hiatal hernia; functional bowel diseases; colitis, heartburn, discomfort and epigastric pain caused by diet disorders and abuse of alcohol, coffee and/or nicotine.
Contraindications - Hypersensitivity, severe renal dysfunction, hypophosphatemia, increased concentration of aluminum ions in the blood (a risk factor for Alzheimer's disease), constipation, stenotic damage to the large intestine.
Side effects - Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea; a decrease in the concentration of phosphorus and an increase in magnesium and aluminum in the blood serum.
Interaction - Reduces the absorption of other drugs from the gastrointestinal tract (tetracyclines, fluoroquinolones, digoxin, indomethacin, acetylsalicylic acid, histamine H2 receptor blockers, beta-blockers, psychotropic and phosphorus-containing drugs), so the interval between doses should be 2 hours, and for fluoroquinolones - 4 hours. Aluminum absorption increases when taking acidic drinks (fruit juices, wines, etc.).
Overdose - No information.
Special instructions - Use with caution in patients undergoing hemodialysis, as well as with diabetes mellitus (the suspension contains sugar - 1.9 g per sachet).
