Dosage forms: chewable tablets

Ingredients: Alhydrate, Magnesium hydroxide, Simethicone.

Indications for use:

  1. peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum in the acute phase;
  2. acute gastritis, chronic gastritis, gastroduodenitis with normal or increased secretory function in the acute phase;
  3. hiatal hernia, reflux esophagitis;
  4. treatment and prevention of dyspeptic symptoms resulting from the use of certain medications (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, corticosteroids);
  5. discomfort or pain in the epigastrium, dyspeptic symptoms (heartburn, sour belching) that occur after errors in diet, excessive consumption of alcohol, coffee, nicotine, etc.

Contraindications:

Severe renal dysfunction, hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Side effect:

Almagel Neo is usually well tolerated. Patients with renal failure may develop aluminum and/or magnesium intoxication. In rare cases, diarrhea, constipation, nausea, vomiting, changes in taste, and allergic reactions may occur. In elderly patients, exacerbation of osteoarticular diseases and Alzheimer's disease is possible. With prolonged use, disturbances in the metabolism of phosphorus, calcium and magnesium are possible.

Interaction:

When used simultaneously with Almagel Neo, the therapeutic effect of tetracycline antibiotics, ciprofloxacin, indomethacin, salicylates, chlorpromazine, H2-histamine receptor blockers, beta-blockers, digoxin, isoniazid, ketoconazole may decrease.

Overdose:

Possible disturbances in the metabolism of phosphorus, calcium and magnesium. Symptoms: weakness, bone pain, redness of the skin, inappropriate behavior.

Special instructions:

A 2-hour interval should be observed between the use of Almagel Neo and other drugs. The drug is prescribed with caution to patients with impaired renal and/or liver function and to elderly patients (in this case, treatment should be carried out as prescribed and under the supervision of a physician). It is not recommended to use the drug during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding), and for children under 10 years of age. With long-term use, it is recommended to monitor the levels of phosphorus and magnesium in the blood.
