Amoebiasis

Amoebiasis is an infectious disease caused by the parasitic amoeba Entamoeba histolytica. The main manifestation of amebiasis is dysentery - inflammation of the colon with the development of diarrhea, pain and colitis. The causative agent of amoebiasis enters the human body through contaminated water and food. Diagnosis is based on the detection of cysts or vegetative forms of amoebas in the stool. Treatment is with antiparasitic drugs such as metronidazole. Prevention consists of following the rules of personal hygiene, drinking boiled water and heat treatment of food. Amebiasis is widespread in countries with hot climates where the level of sanitation is low.



Amebiasis is an intestinal protozoal disease caused by protozoa that primarily affects the large intestine and can lead to serious complications. This is a hidden disease that occurs without obvious symptoms and is usually not diagnosed. Despite its name, amoebiosis has many risk factors and is associated
