Aneurysmography

Aneurysmography is a medical imaging procedure that is used to diagnose blood vessel aneurysms.

The term "aneurysmography" consists of two words:

  1. An aneurysm is a local dilation of a blood vessel.

  2. Graphography is the process of obtaining images of the internal structures of the body.

Aneurysmography provides an image of the aneurysm and surrounding tissue using X-rays or a contrast agent. This helps doctors pinpoint the location, size and shape of the aneurysm.

The most commonly used methods for aneurysmography are computed tomography or magnetic resonance angiography. These methods are non-invasive and provide three-dimensional images of the aneurysm.

Aneurysmography is an important diagnostic tool that helps doctors choose the optimal method of treating an aneurysm and preventing its rupture.
