Angiopril-25

Angiopril-25: angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor

Angiopril-25 is one of the most common angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs) used to treat hypertension and other cardiovascular diseases. This drug was developed by Torrent Pharmaceuticals in India and is the international name for Captopril.

Angiopril-25 is a tablet containing 25 mg of the active substance captopril. Captopril is an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor, which is involved in the regulation of blood pressure and water-salt balance. By acting on this enzyme, Angiopril-25 reduces vascular resistance, improves blood flow and reduces the load on the heart.

Angiopril-25 is used for the treatment of arterial hypertension, heart failure, cardiomyopathy, left ventricular dysfunction in a stable condition in patients after myocardial infarction and diabetic nephropathy due to type 1 diabetes mellitus. In addition, Angiopril-25 can be used for combination therapy .

It is important to consider contraindications and restrictions for the use of Angiopril-25. It is not recommended for patients with hypersensitivity to captopril, a history of angioedema with previous use of ACE inhibitors, hereditary or idiopathic angioedema, primary hyperaldosteronism, pregnancy, lactation and childhood. Restrictions on use may be necessary for patients with leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, aortic stenosis or other obstructive changes that impede the outflow of blood from the heart, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy with low cardiac output, severe renal impairment, bilateral renal artery stenosis or stenosis of the artery of a single kidney, the presence of a transplanted kidneys, hyperkalemia.

When using Angiopril-25, side effects associated with many body systems may occur. From the nervous system and sensory organs, fatigue, dizziness, headache, central nervous system depression, drowsiness, confusion, peripheral neuropathy, impaired sense of smell and vision may be observed. From the cardiovascular system, a decrease in blood pressure, tachycardia, arrhythmias, angina pectoris, myocardial infarction, and circulatory disorders in the extremities may occur. Side effects may also occur from the digestive system (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, tongue hypertrophy), skin and subcutaneous tissue (urticaria, angioedema, drug-induced erythema, photosensitivity, dermatitis), respiratory system (cough, bronchospasm, pneumonia), kidneys (renal dysfunction, azotemia), liver (hepatitis, cholestatic jaundice).

Before starting to use Angiopril-25, you should discuss with your doctor all existing contraindications and restrictions, as well as possible side effects of the drug. The drug should be taken strictly as prescribed by the doctor and in the indicated doses. It is not recommended to exceed the recommended dose of the drug and stop using it without first consulting your doctor.
