Vitamin E Zentiva: description, application and side effects
Vitamin E Zentiva, produced by Zentiva a.s. in Slovakia, is one of the drugs in the tocopherol acetate group, which is widely used to treat various diseases associated with vitamin E deficiency in the body.
Vitamin E (tocopherol acetate) is the international name of this drug and has several synonyms, including alpha-tocopherol acetate, Bartel drugs vitamin E, Vitamin E 100-Slovakofarm, Vitamin E 400-Slovakofarm and others. The dosage form of this drug is capsules containing 200 mg of the active substance - tocopherol acetate.
Vitamin E Zentiva is used for the treatment of hypovitaminosis, muscular dystrophy, degenerative changes in the ligamentous apparatus (including the spine), joints and muscles, post-traumatic and post-infectious secondary myopathy, dermatomyositis, convalescence after diseases occurring with febrile syndrome, dysmenorrhea, threatened abortion, menopause , hypofunction of the gonads in men, asthenic and neurasthenic syndromes, neurasthenia due to fatigue, lupus erythematosus, scleroderma, rheumatoid arthritis, myocardial dystrophy, peripheral vascular spasm, atherosclerosis, hypertension, cardiovascular failure, angina pectoris, liver diseases, dermatoses, trophic ulcers, psoriasis, old age and malnutrition.
However, this drug has certain contraindications for use, including hypersensitivity, cardiosclerosis and myocardial infarction, as well as restrictions on use due to the increased risk of thromboembolism. When using this drug, allergic reactions may occur, and with intramuscular injections, pain and infiltrates at the injection site may occur.
Vitamin E Zentiva may also interact with other medications, enhancing their effect, including cardiac glycosides and steroid drugs, as well as reducing the toxicity of vitamins A and D.
An overdose of this drug can lead to creatinuria, diarrhea, epigastric pain and a decrease in the inflammatory function of the immune system.
In general, the use of Vitamin E Zentiva should be carried out only as prescribed by a doctor and under his supervision in order to avoid possible side effects and complications.
