Angioscopy

Angioscopy is an examination using optical visualization of blood vessels using special equipment. Ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging and angiography have their limitations, due to which they cannot always be performed without affecting the blood flow. Therefore, the urgent problem is to find a harmless way to determine the condition of the capillaries and perform emergency operations. Angioscopy allows you to examine 1-2 mm of skin thickness, and with the help of a microscope you can examine in detail any deviations. Unique methods of conducting examinations with high image quality were developed by Associate Professor of the Department of Human Anatomy of the Perm State Medical University. Academician E.A. Wagner by Olga Zhidkova together with a team of St. Petersburg scientists. In a clinic setting, angiography of any complexity can be performed. To examine the capillaries on the patient’s skin, hospitalization and special equipment are not required. Using a special device - an angiograph - the doctor can work both under magnification and in real time mode.
