Ankylosis Intra-articular

Intraarticular ankylosis (a. Intraarticularis) is a condition in which fusion of parts of the joint occurs, which leads to limited movement and decreased functionality of the joint. This process can be caused by a variety of reasons, including injury, infection, arthritis and other diseases.

Intra-articular ankylosis may be reversible or irreversible. With reversible ankylosis, the joint can be restored, while with irreversible ankylosis, restoration is only partially possible or impossible at all.

Treatment of intra-articular ankylosis depends on the cause of its occurrence and severity. In some cases, surgery may be necessary to separate the ankylosed portions of the joint. Conservative treatments such as physiotherapy, massage and exercise therapy may also be used.

It is important to note that intra-articular ankylosis is a serious disease that can lead to disability. Therefore, if symptoms associated with intra-articular ankylosis appear, it is necessary to consult a doctor for diagnosis and treatment.
