Anthelmintics (anthelmintic)
An anthelmintic is a medicinal substance aimed primarily at combating worms (worms) that parasitize the human body. Substances used to combat worms are usually classified as antiparasitic agents. However, despite the fact that among such drugs there are antibacterial and anti-inflammatory drugs, they are usually classified as anthelmintic. They are highly toxic substances that destroy the shell and digestive system of worms, and also suppress their activity.
_The drugs must be taken strictly as prescribed by the doctor!_ Contraindications for use may include: * children under one year of age; * pregnancy with toxicosis of the 1st and 2nd trimesters; * lactation; * hypersensitivity to the main substance or to auxiliary substances; * serious liver and kidney diseases; * hematopoietic disorder
The action of drugs is aimed at suppressing the activity of parasites by destroying membranes, bioenergetic, physical effects on the body of helminths. With long-term use of anthelmintic drugs (more than 2 weeks), the parasites can completely die in the body and are excreted naturally in the feces. Only a full course of treatment gives a pronounced effect in the fight against parasites.
The course of anthelmintic therapy is no different from taking other medications. It is allowed to use an anthelmintic drug either once or repeated after a certain period of time, depending on the duration of treatment and the type of drug prescribed. As a rule, the duration of one therapeutic regimen is 1-3 weeks. In rare cases, treatment takes more than one month. Patients who ignore taking deworming pills may experience health problems later, which is why there are frequent relapses of the disease. Other effective tablets are used to treat children. What should a child drink? What is important is the bioavailability, effectiveness, form of release of the drug, indications for use and the number of doses per day, age category, and so on.
