Aprovel

new (AII) receptors

Aprovel (irbesartan) is an angiotensin (AII) receptor blocker that is used to treat hypertension. It is manufactured by the pharmaceutical company Sanofi Winthrop Industrie in France.

Aprovel is available in tablet dosage forms in dosages of 75 mg, 150 mg and 300 mg. Its active substance is irbesartan.

Indications for use of Aprovel include the treatment of arterial hypertension. It helps lower blood pressure and improve blood flow, which may reduce the risk of developing cardiovascular disease.

However, like other medications, Aprovel has its contraindications and side effects. It is contraindicated in cases of hypersensitivity, pregnancy and breastfeeding, and is not recommended for children without proper medical supervision.

Side effects of Aprovel may include headache, dizziness, fatigue, anxiety/excitement, tachycardia, upper respiratory tract infections, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, dyspeptic symptoms, heartburn, musculoskeletal pain, allergic reactions and others.

It is also necessary to take into account possible interactions of Aprovel with other drugs. For example, combined use with potassium-sparing diuretics and potassium supplements can lead to the development of hyperkalemia.

In case of an overdose of Aprovel, symptoms of arterial hypotension, tachycardia or bradycardia may appear. In this case, it is necessary to induce vomiting and/or gastric lavage, administer activated charcoal and symptomatic therapy.

However, despite all its contraindications and side effects, Aprovel is an effective drug for the treatment of arterial hypertension. As with any medicine, you should consult your doctor before use and strictly follow the instructions for use.
