Cardiac arrhythmia is a disturbance in the rhythm of heart contractions. With arrhythmia, the regularity of heart contractions is disrupted, the heart rate changes, and extrasystoles occur.
There are several types of arrhythmias:
- Sinus arrhythmia is an increase or decrease in rhythm due to changes in the tone of the vagus nerve.
- Extrasystole is a premature contraction of the heart.
- Atrial fibrillation is chaotic contractions of the atria.
- Ventricular tachycardia is a rapid ventricular rhythm.
The causes of arrhythmias are varied - from congenital conduction disorders to acquired heart diseases. Diagnostics is based on ECG, ECHO-CG, HM-ECG and other methods. Treatment depends on the type of arrhythmia and is aimed at restoring a normal rhythm or controlling the heart rate.

The reasons for the development of arrhythmia can be very diverse: stress, use of alcohol, tobacco or drugs, as well as the presence of certain diseases such as heart failure, ischemic
