Arteries of the Cerebral Peduncles Lateral

The lateral cerebellar artery (lat. a. cerebellaris lateralis) is the posterior cerebral artery of the brain. It is a branch of the posterior brainstem. In turn, the lateral middle cerebral artery is a branch of the posterior cerebral artery.

The lateral sinus of the vertebral foramen, connecting the second cervical vertebra, is located deeper than the adjacent innominate bone. Posteriorly and inwardly of the lateral sinus, the horny process and anterior tubercles of the occipital bone are visible.
