Artery Facial

Facial artery (a.facialis) – paired, superficial, branches from the ascending part of the aortic arch and in the upper part of the face is divided into anterior and posterior terminal branches. The branches of the a.facialis pass along the lateral wall of the orbit and are divided into two terminal branches: the upper lateral and the lower facial. The first supplies the skin, muscles and glands of the forehead, temple and back of the head; the second – the skin of the cheeks and masticatory muscles. The brain receives blood from the internal cerebral arteries. From the superior sagittal sinus, along the deep temporal artery, a branch extends to the dura mater of the brain, the internal carotid, anterior and
