The frontal artery (arteria frontalis) is one of the important arteries of the head. It is a branch of the internal carotid artery and is part of the blood supply system to the brain. This artery supplies blood to the anterior parts of the brain, as well as the supraorbital plate, the orbital region, the sphenoid sinus and the lateral walls of the orbit.
The frontal artery is located inside the frontal bone and runs along the surface of the frontal lobe of the brain. On its way, it goes through numerous twists and turns, which makes it a rather complex anatomical structure.
The frontal nerve is innervated by the frontal nerve.
