Artery Scapular Superior

Scapular artery superior - (a. Scapularis Superior)

This is the largest artery of the shoulder. Blood comes from the aortic arch and the upper part of the thoracic aorta. The anterior and posterior superior arterial branch departs, which is responsible for the blood supply to the neck, muscles of the upper anterior and posterior parts of the shoulder girdle. May return back to the spine

It is often displaced on the back side of the shoulder joint, so it is difficult to feel it yourself, but you can feel a pulsation near the edge of the shoulder blade with light pressure. If in doubt, it is better to consult a specialist.
