Artery of the Iris Nasal

The nasal iris artery (a. iris nasalis) is one of the arteries that supplies blood to the eyeball and adjacent tissues. It originates from the internal carotid artery and passes through the orbit, where it branches into smaller vessels.

The nasal iris artery is one of the main sources of blood supply to the iris, which is located in the front of the eye and is responsible for changing the color of the eyeballs. It also supplies blood to the ciliary body, which is responsible for focusing images on the retina.

In addition, the nasal iris artery supplies blood to the anterior parts of the brain, as well as the temporal bone and other structures located around the eyeball.

Impaired blood supply to the eye can lead to various diseases, such as glaucoma, retinal detachment and others. Therefore, it is important to monitor the condition of the nasal iris artery and its vessels to avoid possible complications.
