Artery resection

Arterial resection is a surgical procedure in which part of a vessel is excised, most often with subsequent restoration of arterial patency. This treatment method is used to eliminate stenosis, atherosclerosis, thrombophlebitis and other blood flow pathologies. It can be carried out as a single treatment option, as well as in preparation for coronary artery bypass surgery, heart valve replacement surgery, or transplantation of sections of the circulatory system and correction of heart defects. The procedure is performed both open and endovascular.
