What is a ventilator? An artificial respiration device (AIR) is a device that is connected to the patient's trachea through a special tube. It performs the functions of maintaining oxygen and carbon dioxide in the patient's blood. This helps prevent hypoxia and hypercapnia, which can lead to serious health consequences. There are different types of AIDs: manual, automatic and forced. Manual devices are usually used to support the breathing of patients in conditions where it is not possible to use automatic or forced aid. Handheld Aidas have a manual regulator that allows you to control the flow of inhaled and exhaled gases. Automatic air flow controls provide automatic control of gas flow using sensors and motors. Mandatory AID involves continuous positive airway pressure, which increases the amount of air passing through the airways. Manual and automatic Aidas can be portable or stationary. Portable Aidas are used to periodically support the breathing of patients, for example, when transporting a patient to a hospital. Stationary Aidas are placed next to the patient,
