The name “Hummoid Aspergillosis” sounds rather awkward, but, nevertheless, this disease exists and requires a serious approach to treatment. Aspergillosis mainly affects people with weakened immune systems, such as cancer patients and people undergoing chemotherapy. However, it can also develop with long-term antibiotic therapy. The disease manifests itself quite early - no more than a few weeks pass from the moment of infection. The main symptoms are rash, itchy skin, fever and abdominal pain. Due to the difficulty of diagnosis, doctors often mistakenly make an incorrect diagnosis, which entails the prescription of unnecessary medications and, accordingly, the lack of proper treatment. To make a diagnosis, it is necessary to take blood and urine tests, which will show the presence of antibodies to Aspergillus, after which an appropriate set of therapy is prescribed. Treatment may include antibiotics, antifungals, fluid therapy, and correction of immune disorders. Self-medication in this situation is dangerous to health, so at the first symptoms of the disease you should consult a doctor.
