A peculiarity of the technique is the feeling of a sharp “shooting” pain in the back of the head in response to irritation of the olfactory area of ​​the nose (for example, when a vial with a volatile liquid approaches). When these areas are touched, sharply painful shocks sometimes appear, which is associated with spasm of the arterioles.
