**Corneal astigmatism** is a disease in which the eye loses its ability to focus on an image due to irregular curvature of the surface of the cornea of the eye. This type of astigmatism is called astigmatic degeneration.
Normally, the cornea is spherical in shape, which allows the eye to focus
