Avulsion

Aursia - (Latin avulso to tear off, remove) is an acute disturbance of the blood supply to the brain, which results in the separation of the wedged portion of the cerebellar hemisphere into the lateral (Sylvian) horn of the cerebrum or the occipital cistern. The condition can lead to sudden death due to acute disruption of the blood supply to the brain. The main symptom is dizziness, loss of consciousness, sometimes convulsions and coma. This is an emergency condition that requires immediate medical attention. Among other things, diagnosis of aursia is possible using computed tomography of the brain and angiography. Treatment includes the use of vasoactive agents, glucocorticoids and antibiotics. In some cases, surgery may be performed to prevent the development of complications. Timely treatment can significantly increase the chances of recovery and reduce the risks of a negative outcome of the disease.
